What happens when you take children with imagination add sunshine, nature and some free time?
They create a child sized world complete with stone paths and floors,
multiple cooking areas,

walled gardens,
and gardens with benches,
lovely drapes,
even their own paint and signs.
They made the paint for the signs using clay and various plant matter. (Just don’t look at the spelling.) They created walkways, other gardens and houses, bridges over the creek, cooking pots made from clay, and lots of ‘food’.
Psst, have your children had their free time today? They can learn creativity, resourcefulness and teamwork, build solid relationships with their siblings and have a ton of fun. Cost? FREE!
At least for the time being, the tunnel to China is on hold.

Oh how I wish we lived on property, instead of a small city lot.
But, even with our very small yard, our kids do have free time, they do build things, they do have their own make-believe worlds.
Many children don’t know how to really “play” because they spend too much time with technology: iPods, wii, Game Boys, Play Station, X-box, etc… Our children don’t have any of those things … so they do know how to play.

family of 12? Bless you. Love love love your header! It’s my first time here. This post is great! We used to do this kinda thing in our woods when I was a kid. Back before technology. lol

I just stumbled on your blog from Twitter, so am late posting to this entry. I love this entry! I am a mom of six. My four oldest are grown and on their own but I still have 14 yr. old twins at home. I have homeschooled them from the start. They both still love to go outside and build campfire rings, homes for animals and many other things with rocks and sticks. In fact, one of my daughters, has a terrarium in which she keeps a small snake and a lizard. She’ll go out and search our 5 acre property for “food” for them.

Hey that’s awesome! Reminds me of the “olden days” back with my siblings making forts and fishing poles in the willows in the creek.
