I moved Jenni's comment to the Reasons We Have a Large Family Page so that others can view the complete discussion on this post.

Jenni,

Hi Jenni. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I would like to mention just a couple of things.

First of all, since I am a citizen of the U.S., the only King that I have is King Jesus and He was not created by God. He is God. I'm not opening up a discussion on this point, just telling you what we believe. John 1:1-5 teaches us that "the Word" (Jesus Christ) was in the beginning with God, He is not a created being.

Secondly, you say that it is un-Christ like to pass judgment and that it is not in our job description. Our only measure of Christ-likeness is the Bible which is also our job description and throughout the Bible Christians are given commands that necessitate judgment, as well as being directly commanded to judge. Here are just a few examples:

In Matthew 7:6 Christians are commanded not to give that which is holy to dogs or cast our pearls before swine. We obviously must judge "dogs" and "swine" in order to obey.

Christians are also commanded to be not unequally yoked together with an unbeliever in 2 Cor. 6:14. If we are not supposed to pass judgment how are we to obey this command?

In Matthew 10, Jesus is sending his disciples out and he tells them in verse 11 to search out who is worthy and to allow their (the disciple's) peace to remain with that house, but if a house was unworthy that they should allow their peace to return to them. Then in verse 14 and 15 He commands them to shake off the dust of their feet in any city that will not hear their words and that that city will be punished more severely than Sodom and Gomorrah to

Christ Himself also judged, in Matthew 12:34 Jesus calls the Pharisees vipers because they said His power was coming from the devil.

I posted about judging in an un-Christ like manner as opposed to judging with love here.

Thanks again for your comment.

Those are very sound reasons, and I agree with every one of them! Kids are so awesome! You could not ask for a more wonderful and blessed gift than that of a child. We are very excited about getting "unfixed" and continuing our family expansion. :-D Thank you again for the reminder!
