Quick Mom Story: We just had our 9th child, and the other children are so enamored with him they keep asking to “pet” him. I’ve had to tell them he’s their brother, not their puppy! Blessings!

my mom story: When my three-tear-old wants to get some where fast he will take off running as fast as he can and yell “Streak!” I have no idea where he got this but it is so funny to have a little streaker in the house.

It’s hard to come up with a story. I have plenty, but a short enough one…hmmm

My three year old was getting ready for bed when her Daddy got home from work. He told her that he needed to go potty before he could come help tuck her in (he drives about an hour to an hour and a half home each night). As he headed for our master bathroom she stopped him and said, “Daddy, you can use my bathroom. It’s okay, you can stink up the whole house.”

I am not sure what conversation might have led to that comment, but it sure made us both laugh when it happened!

One of my favorite “mom” stories (and I have a lot of them) was when my oldest daughter, Sam was about 3 years old that my husband was packing her as we were walking along. He looked over at me and said, “Mommy sure looks pretty, doesn’t she?” Sam replied, “ACTUALLY Daddy, Mommy is BEAUTIFUL!”

I was sitting at the table on Easter after a big meal I’d prepared. That day had been a little trying, with my parents visiting and my oldest being in a bad mood and getting upset when things weren’t exactly “fair” between her sister and her. All of the sudden, my oldest taps me on the shoulder and says “Mommy, I…” she holds up a pipe cleaner shaped like a heart, “…You!”. Melted my heart!

story about Motherhood. This past Sunday, we were on our way to church when I realized I had baby puke on my shirt. We turned around, i ran inside, threw on a different shirt . . .not as nice, didn’t quite match my skirt as well as the first, but I didn’t want to be late. As I jumped back in the car, in the rain, my four year old says, “Mama! You – look – BEAUTIFUL!” As a words person, I was just thrilled. I turned around to thank my sweet son, when my six year old says, in a very apologetic, but firm voice, “Moses, we shouldn’t say things that aren’t true, just to make other people happy.” Ahhhh – that about sums it up. spit up on your clothes, late to events, flexibility, compliments, your instructions/teaching coming from your children (often in the same tone of voice) and lots of love and laughter.
