Recycling Shot Glasses

violets in shot glassRecently I found an assortment of shot glasses at a yard sale and I knew they would be just the thing for the proliferation of springtime bouquets that the children gather from our yard. Dandelions and dainty violets look charming in these glasses that are the perfect size for tiny stems.

Glassware is inexpensive at yard sales. I got this matching set of 20 shot glasses plus some non-matching pieces for $1. I know there are a lot of other ways that we can recycle glassware. I’d love to hear your ideas.

Wow – I did this today, how freaky. I was doing a big kitchen clean out/ organise and my husband like toothpicks but I hate when they spill out of the box and get caught up between the spices (he keeps them on the spice rack). So I took them out of the box and put then in a shot glass and put the shot glass next to the spices. The shot glass is the perfect size for the toothpicks, and I have an abundance of them from drinking games when I was at uni.. :) Thanks for the post!

I love the uses you have displayed for these little versatile gems. A much better use than what they were originally intended for. I love that Star of Bethlehem photo, it’s worth framing.

Great ideas!!! I never know what to do with the flowers the kids pick for me. They will be so happy to have their own “vases” to put them in now :)

What a great idea! I just went to a neighborhood garage sale and I saw everal of these. We don’t drink so I passed them by. I wish I had read this earlier! I was looking for something to organize my makeup. These would have been perfect!
