Savannah (4) asked me yesterday afternoon if I would start calling her Cinderella. She is so in love with being a princess. After some discussion we came to an agreement. She acts like a child of The King that she is and I will occasionally call her Cinderella. So don’t be alarmed, I haven’t forgotten her name, yet.
Sadie (5) loves to cook, even picking a cookbook for her one book from the library book sale. Yesterday, she enlisted Alyssa (8) to help her whip up a batch of gingerbread cookies. They baked and decorated a special one just for me and insisted that I eat it before anyone else got one. Sadie was so proud.
She piled the cookies on a plate and served each person herself. (Her forehead is thanks to a trip down the zip line, I won’t mention which non-parent adult who lives in our home was helping her.)
Nicholas has taken to speed, army crawling in circles. He’s amazingly fast and laughs the whole time.

Nick was running a fever when we celebrated his birthday so was a little subdued, but still sweet and willing to share a smile.

Love the cake face!
Most Saturday mornings while dad sleeps and I head out to yard sales, the children engage in pillow fights. The biggest down to the smallest, nine children tousling with their pillows on Saturday mornings.

Don’t worry about Colby he can defend himself.
And sometimes I wonder if we need to do a little more time line work.

What do you think?

Thanks for sharing, Kimberly! I think you have too much, fun, though. Might want to look into that…

Yes, the word to describe it is certainly fun. I’m so thankful for God’s blessing of these children.

Tell Sadie that her Mrs. Angel is very proud of her for making cookies for everyone. (and Alyssa too for helping her lil sis out) Gurl you have such wonderful children. They really are a blessing to all that come in contact with them, both in person, and through your posts. Huggz to everyone!

I believe that Matthew and Carter are in two different eras….. Maybe a little history lesson is in order?
[Reply]
I think it is a standoff and mommy HAS been doing history lessons. Which era would you rather fight in? Seems much was at stake in Matthew’s era and much at stake in Carter’s too! I think these very smart boys are realizing some real deep things about being future protectors!! It is their calling.

Too funny! My oldest was sick on her first birthday and had similar pictures. Jackson, my four year old, has decided he wants to be a soldier when he grows up. So he can get a big key. Like Sgt. York. It took a while for me to figure that out! Have you seen the movie about York? He is given the key to some city when he returns from the war. Four year old boys!! Gotta love’em!

I love the time line! It’s just too cute! So where do you store all the dress up clothes?

Anita,
We have seen Sgt. York. We found it recently on clearance. I do love how little ones think.
Mandy,
We have a small closet down near the playroom where we store a box for girls clothes and a box for boys clothes in addition to a small set of shelves for hats, shoes, and accessories.
I go through the clothes often to make sure that everything fits in it’s appropriate place.
