Don’t forget to enter to win a great Father’s Day gift.
I admit it. I’m a slacker. I have procrastinated, BUT I’m catching up right now. Does that count for anything or have I been forever blacklisted as a non-participant?
Danetta over at Things That Make You Go Yay! gave me a blog award.
Thanks Danetta!
Vicki over at Joy Home Living gave me a Passionate Blogger Award. (Sometimes a little too passionate I’m afraid.)
I’m supposed to post 5 things that I’m passionate about besides blogging and then pass the award on to 5 other passionate bloggers and tell why I chose them.
5 things I’m passionate about:
- God’s Word
- My husband and children
- Accepting God’s blessings
- Homeschooling
- Cleaning/organizing, although you may not be able to tell if you come over. Sometimes those other passions impede progress.
5 bloggers that I give the Passionate Blogger Award:
- Kimarie at Cardamom’s Pod for her passion for all things “from scratch”.
- Spunky at Spunky Homeschool for her keep-the-government-out-of-my-homeschool passion.
- Kristin at Little Miss Suzie Homemaker for her baking passion. That girl can seriously turn out lots of good food, even when she’s pregnant.
- Darci at Homegrowing for her new passion for pink. Darci lost a son at the age of two, but God has now brought them full circle with a 911 call and ambulance ride that ends in all JOY! Click here to read the rest of the story.
- Kate at Our Quiverfull for her passion for helping her kids enjoy life to the fullest even in the midst of dealing with an ill son.
Here are my rules. You do not need to blog about your award. Just know that I appreciate your blogs and keep up the good work. I’m also not opposed to you blogging about the award, just no obligation.
I’ve also been tagged for a Meme. twice. ( I did mention that I have been procrastinating, right?) JenT from Many Blessings Equals a Busy Life and Sasha at Small Town Mamma both tagged me, so how could I refuse?
8’s Great Meme!
8 Things that I look forward to:
- Having another baby, Lord willing. I love feeling a baby kick inside me. I love that newborn smell, look, feel. I love watching them grow and change. I love the snuggable 2’s and the more independant 3’s. The sweet and helpful 6’s and the more mature 12 year old. I love every stage!
- Seeing my children’s children. Maybe even spoiling them too.
- Meeting my children’s spouses.
- Having more time alone with Mark to just enjoy being best friends.
- Having more time to help younger moms.
- Gaining wisdom.
- All nations bowing to Jesus our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
- Buying furniture. Hmm, this should go under the things that I wish I could do.
8 Things I did yesterday: (You;ve got to be kidding, I’m expected to remember 8 things from yesterday?)
- Prayed and read my Bible. (That’s easy, I do that everyday.)
- Ate ice cream. I know, bad, it was right before bed too.
- Read books to the kiddos.
- Fixed dinner.
- Vacuumed and swept. (That’s another easy one, I also do that everyday. I love to clean floors, remember the whole vacuum conversation?)
- Talked to an adoption agency.
- Finished helping paint the kids bedrooms. (I can’t remember if that was yesterday or not) Nope, that was Wednesday. I remember now, I went to a mom’s group in Loudon and enjoyed meeting and enjoying some fellowship with new friends. They children also brought half a dozen frogs home and have turned our garage into a rain forest habitat for their cold blooded friends.
- Blogged about our new Greek books.
8 Things that I wish I could do:
- Have more time to draw.
- Have more time to knit.
- Have more time to read.
- Travel to Greece and Italy with the kids!
- Take the children out west, where I grew up. Yosemite, the Pacific Ocean, Grand Canyon, and those flat western lands where the sky streches from horizon to horizon. I still miss the sky!
- Honestly, can’t think of anything else. I have a wonderful life.
8 Shows I Watch:
- Well, we don’t watch TV much so I just have one that we used to watch. Law and Order.
8 Bloggers Tagged:
I’m tagging the same 5 from my Passionate Blogger Award. Same rules apply, but if you choose to do this, please let me know so that I can come read yours.
I do realize that 5 is not 8, but we have 13 children for the weekend and are taking everyone fishing tomorrow, so I’m going to run have fun with the kids.

You painted the kids bedrooms? I hope you picked out good colors because it’s no fun painting what you just finished painting. I painted with a color recently called Apple 4, it looked like this slime green color, but this family really liked it so I guess I got away with that one. They also had the boys sleeping in a “lavender” room, so what can you expect from people like that.

All right, Seth. I can’t even remember what I did yesterday and you expect me to pick out nice paint colors with short notice? Too much pressure, too much pressure.
Seriously, thanks for all your help.

Short notice? I don’t think two months is short notice.
