Fishing with Thirteen

Friday and Saturday Mark and I had the privileged of taking care of our 4 nieces and nephews.  For just a couple of days we had  13 children ages 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 10, 11, and 12.   Saturday morning we decided to take the children to a fishing tournament sponsored by the American Legion.Following Dad13 little fishermen searching for the best place to fish. We fished, dipped our toes, talked, and waited.  Our patience paid off, four of the thirteen children pulled something in.  It was every one’s first catch.Carter with fishC with fishAlyssa with fishColby with fishEven two year old Colby managed to land his very first fish.  Let me tell you, that boy was P-R-O-U-D.  He practically danced when we told him it was a Blue Gill.Savannah eating hot dogMark and A.Nick eating cheetos

We enjoyed spending time with our children and their cousins.  One year old Miss A. is an absolute doll and has Mark completely wrapped around her little pinky finger.  Uh, pay no attention to the junk food.  It is a figment of your imagination.  We always eat homemade, freshly ground, whole wheat bread and never serve any processed food.  You do not see our sweet, 4 year old Savannah chomping down on a hot dog with chili and Nicholas is certainly not enjoying some Cheetos.  Well, OK, you may see some junk food, but you can’t pass up the opportunity to feed 15 people for free, right?

And yes, the only reason I posted this was to share some great pictures of the kids with the grandparents.  I hope those grandparents are appreciative.  Where is that donate button when I need it?

    Hey Kimberly,
The fishing day looks like so much fun! I know you must have enjoyed having the extra kids! The more the merrier!
I plan to participate in your Tuesday’s Tips next Tuesday….I am still catching up from being gone for a week. We also have houseguests this week (our church is holding a gospel meeting and we are keeping the visiting preacher and his wife for 5 nights), so I don’t have a lot of free time this week.
    Have a great week!
Oh, how is your running coming?

I simply adore sunny, outside days spending time with the kids. I think that is one of my favorite things to do.

Welcome back Roan. I will look forward to reading your tip next Tuesday. Running, not so good, but regular exercise, great. We have had company (different groups) every day since last Thursday and that will continue until this Friday and then on Sunday evening we will have our whole church family in our home for a potluck and Psalm sing and out of town guests on Monday again. All of that to say, I’m just happy to be doing my exercise video in the basement at this time, too much going on.

Oh how fun!!!! I used to LOVE going fishing when I was a kid. And you know what? I have never taken my kids fishing, well at least the younger three! We were just talking about this a few days ago. But once our pond is finished… I imagine a weekly fishing trip will be in order. :)
    Great pics and adorable children.

    Blessings,
    Chas

Thanks Chas. Your own pond? My children would be ecstatic! As it is Mark says that we have a new Saturday morning activity. He says that as soon as I get home from yard sale-ing we are going to pack the kids and poles and fish! I’m certainly game.

    Blessings,
    Kimberly
