Not Me Monday: I DO Have It All Together, Honest

On our way to a bring-your-own-lunch play date, I did not have to stop by the grocery because I had neglected to plan ahead and had no groceries in the house and I certainly did not buy junk food for the children to eat.

When we got to our friend’s home for the play date, I did not grab a wipe and station myself at the van door hastily cleaning the children’s hands and faces as they hopped out.  With 9 children I have learned to always plan ahead and I make sure that the children are clean BEFORE we leave the house.

Since I am a control freak concerned and loving mom and always know exactly what each of my  children are doing,  one of the small ones did not attempt to cut himself a slice of bread with a very large knife. Colby and knife

When I saw him with the very large knife, I took it away from him immediately and did not run for the camera so that I could get a couple of pictures.colby smiling with knife

While visiting Dollywood with some friends I did not find it necessary to go up to a complete stranger and ask for a diaper.  Come on, I just blogged about being prepared and you know how organized I am, so I would not be away from home AGAIN without any supplies.  Nope, not me!

When I saw the friend, who was at Dollywood with us, later in the week she did not give me a Baby-on-the-Go diaper changing kit. My friends do not make fun of me.  We are a serious group of moms who manage larger than average families, so we couldn’t possibly have time for any fun like taking the kids to Dollywood or laughing at each other. :)

Our boys are all the rough and tumble, bugs and snails type of boy, so you would never ever find them sitting in pretty, pink, princess chairs.June 13 016

When one of my friends left a snarky comment on the blog about me not having enough time to post new material since my two oldest children were gone, I did not plan to leave her a sassy, sarcastic reply about having PLENTY of time only to end up running out of time to think of, let alone post my brilliant reply.

While we were out shopping for a new dishwasher, one of our children did not knock down a large sale sign in the middle of the isle.  I did not pretend that I did not know whose child he was.

Shelley P, thanks for taking the time to comment and I’m always glad to be smiled at.

I enjoy posting Not Me Monday’s because it helps me to see humor in the situation and I’m able to laugh with the children and say, “Yes, this will make a good Not Me post”. It has enabled me to be a little more laid back and probably a lot more fun to be around. :)

    Blessings,
    Kimberly

  • Too funny-especially that last line! I have 8 and I can totally relate to cleaning the children as they exit the van.
    Blessings!
