Splash Pad

One of the benefits of moving to a larger city is that there are a lot more free activities available, especially during the summer.  This morning Last week (I wrote this post and then delayed publishing it) as Mark was struggling to install our new dishwasher.  (Yes nearly 3 weeks after this happened we are finally getting a replacement.)  He asked if I could take the children out for the morning.  The children were happy to comply, so we grabbed swimsuits, towels and lunch and headed to the local splash pad.Colby at splash pad

Colby, fearless as he is, jumped right inNicholas watches splash padwhile Nick was content to watch on the sidelinesAmber, Alyssa and Nick Splash pad

until he got some encouragement from his sisters.

Sadie splash padSadie was ecstatic to be free to splash all morning longnick in towel

and after it was all over, Nicholas was happy for a warm towel.

I was able to do some reading (Teaching the Trivium: Christian Homeschooling in a Classical Style if you must know and no that doesn’t tell you HOW we homeschool, you have to stick around and wait for the posts. :) ) and planning. We had lunch and came home to our extremely quiet new dishwasher washing away.

Thanks honey!

I love the pictures. The kids look like they are having so much fun! I love wrapping a towel around a little one who’s all wet & tired from a good time playing at the pool/beach! This reminds me to take mine somewhere like this:)

Cute pictures! I’m curious where you got those wonderful swimsuit coverups for the girls! I think I’m going to have to make swimsuits this year…

    Cardamom,

Those aren’t cover-ups, they are the girls swim suits. We buy them from Swim Modest.com.

    Thanks!

    Blessings,

Thanks, Kimberly! Those are great. And I don’t know why I typed “coverups” – they look like it, but I knew they were swimdresses! Duh! I was also checking out the patterns at but these might be easier – at least for the little girls.

I LOVE the gurls swim dresses! They are adorable! I am going to swim modest.com now! Thanks gurl! I have been looking for a new suit for stephie, and one for myself as well. I have a swim dress, but it is spagetti strap top, and I would love something with sholders. Thanks gurl!

Swim modest might be good for the girls, but what about Nick? Shouldn’t he be a little more modest as well?

You know Seth, I actually thought about that. Poor kid with only a swim diaper on, not even a swimsuit. Thanks for bringing it to everyone’s attention.

Hey, I am not the one pointing out to the world that he likes to wear princess crowns AND sit in pink chairs. Talk about poor kid.
