One down side to all of these terrific Crayola product is that we find our children sometimes get a little too creative.  marker floorcrayon doormarker legI won’t tell you who the culprit is, but I’ll tell you that he likes being a tiger.Colby marker faceHe is fascinated with the story of Daniel in the lion’s den, only he thinks that it is Daniel and the tiger’s den.

Aren’t you glad that so many of Crayola products are washable?  Of course, you probably don’t care because your children only color on paper, right?

How to enter:

  • Leave a comment telling me what your children have done that has made you thankful for washable products or why you wish that everything was washable.
  • Extra entries for blogging or Tweeting about this giveaway.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry.

Oh how I would love to win these products. Our little girl is just starting to use crayons (TaDoodles). I am so thankful Crayola has washable products because I just know that our little one is going to more than likely take her artistic talent to the walls, herself, etc.

I love washable products because my four year old is not good at coloring in the lines, or even staying on the paper a lot of times. It usually ends up on the table, his clothes and arms and legs, etc. We’ve manages to break him of coloring on the walls, but my eighteen month old is probably going to discover that attraction before long. sigh. I’ll have to teach his older brother to scrub the walls.

I was glad to have washable products last week when my 2 year old decided that coloring her shirt was more fun than coloring her paper.

Several years ago, we had *white* furniture in the living room. It was passed along to us by family who had bought new furniture, and not a color that we would have picked if we had been choosing it ourselves! Very pretty, but not exactly a good color with little ones! Well, let’s just say that we had a big “incident” with a little red pen. I actually got all of it out with a lot of time, scrubbing, and “Goo Gone.”

We now have dark colored furniture with a tapestry fabric!

I sure wish the crayons that went through our washer and then our dryer a few years ago in “someone’s” pocket had been washable! We lost several clothing items in that incident!

My kids have colored on every conceivable item, or at least it seems sometimes. I especially find it funny the times when they have colored their bodies, and then hide it under their clothes. There has been several times that I have found a surprise under the clothes during bath time.

A couple years ago there was one time I brought in a stray dog and was trying to get ahold of its owner from the number on the collar. My son who was about 3 at the time hid in his sister’s room because he was so afraid of the dog. I thought that was fine, I didn’t want force him to like the dog .( who actually was quite nice ) But unbeknowest to me, my son had found a BLACK crayon and had drawn over everything to his heart’s content!!! It took a couple Magic Erasers and ALOT of scrubbing to finally clean it all up!!

I am thankful for washable markers because one day my girls decided to play tic tac toe on each other. Thank goodness I was able to stick them in the tub and wash it off. We had to have a talk after that one.

we use washable markers a lot, because our kids like to color during the beginning of church service. Having washable markers would make me less nervous to “color” the pews.

We LOVE Crayola products in our home. My oldest son, who is now 8 years old, decided to shock me on several occassions when he was younger. One morning I zipped to the bathroom quickly to take care of business and upon returning to the living room there was no Ethan. I looked high and low and started to panic. I heard a little giggle and found, on the bottom shelf of the book shelf, a diapered boy covered in blue Crayola marker. He had sucked on it, drew on his belly, legs, arms and face, not to mention the white book shelf. Being the good mom that I am, I took a picture first, then removed the marker, and vowed never to pee without my son again.

On another occassion a young Ethan had his friend over to play. Both boys were 3 years old and partners in crime. They were playing in the bedroom one spring day and were watching the cars out the window. They had climbed upon a small bench that sat snugly under the window and when i would peek in on them there were two, blonde boys sitting in the window giggling and having a grand time. So cute. A moment where a mom goes “Awwww… isn’t that precious” until she realizes the giggles are because they each have a fistful of crayons and they are coloring the window pane, screen and molding. Mr. Clean’s Magic Eraser as well as a razor blade helped that one.

Fast forward 5 years and now my second son, Uriah, is on the scene. Ethan is calm in comparison. Uriah is a spit fire and I have to pry markers from his pudgy little hands on a daily basis. I think Uriah was created with a stealth mode because he seems to not make noise while he is destructing things. He plots, schemes, and then carries out his plan which is usually to color something new every day. One morning it was the dining room floor, the next was the living room door, and today it was a square of linoleum in the kitchen. Yesterday he gave himself a nice tatoo on his thigh. I never know what each day will bring but I am thankful for running water, soap, and Crayola washable products. I am waiting for our white kitty to have colored fur… maybe that will be tomorrow. This wonderful giveaway would supply my life with more adventure and memories in the making. THanks for the opportunity to have a go at it.

my kids have been into sending mail to each other and cousins lately too. but thankfully that has been on appropriate paper!

Well there was this time I went to bed early and my son was up with spending some quality time with his father. When I woke up the next morning and came out to prepare breakfast I found a new addition to our dining room. It was a rather large brown drawing of Annie and Clarabel right above the table! When I questioned his father, he had “not even noticed” the blooming works of our artist! I had to admire his work though, they even had the different faces just like Annie and Clarabel!

I’d love to win this! I’m thankful for washable products because I’m lazy and still haven’t managed to sew my son an art smock. Every art experience ends up with just as much paint on him as on the paper.

I love washable markers especially since about 3 years ago. My then 3 1/2 yr old son was being so quiet during his quiet time in his room (this should have been a clue for me). When I went in to get him, he showed me the artwork he had been working on during his quiet time. There was a huge orange gia monster (large circle with LOTS of legs) in the middle of his off-white carpet drawn in crayon. We were in the process of selling our house so while I praised his creativity, I was not at all pleased. I tried lots and lots of ways to clean it, but in the end the faded but still visible gia monster was passed on to the new home owners. Oh, how I love washable markers :)

My fifteen month old daughter won’t let me use a writing utensil in peace unless she can have one herself. Pen ink isn’t much fun to scrub off of anything, even if it does give a few moments of quiet.

    Love your children’s creativity :)

So just before a trip to Denver (I was going last minute, as usual), I threw the last load of laundry (whites) into the dryer, as we just needed a couple of white undershirts for the wedding my whole family was in. WELL, as I went to grab them out they were all beautifully (and boldly) speckled with all the colors of the rainbow. That was because one of my sweet babies wanted to keep her new rainbow crayon (the ones you make in the oven with all the old broken pieces) in her pocket to be safe! How I wished they would’ve washed out of ALL those whites, including a couple of my husbands work shirts…and all of his socks and underwear! Oh, and they were no easy feat to get out of all the crevices of the dryer either!

o.k. I confess I almost didn’t leave a comment because I truly believe that unlike most other companies that make children’s art supplies Crayola consistently improves their products every year and the markers we bought for school last year are STILL good. But who can turn down more of a great thing? Despite a family of 7 children and constant use by toddlers who leave the lids off for days at a time we are still able to make bright birthday banners that stretch for miles. Crayola markers do not leak through the butcher paper birthday banners to leave lasting impressions on cream colored carpets in the living room. So here is my comment in hopes that we will get the giveaway just in time for all our September birthday banners.

My kids have a thing for writing on the walls ALL the time, and they also like writing on their skin and our kitchen table which is white! i am thankfull that some of the stuff that we have bought for them mainly crayola stuff btw, was washable! Or the stains would have not come off the walls or out table….then i would have been really upset lol, our walls are white too everywhere in our house.

I love the fact that so many markers that are supposed to be permanent will wipe off of skin fairly well. I wish it would come out of clothes! The children have a few articles of clothing that have marks on them from markers. But it fades from their skin in a day (after it’s been scrubbed).

When one of my teenagers was a toddler, he decided to decorate my younger brothers very shiny, very brand new silver Ziljan (sp?) drum set with the closest things on hand … a red crayon and a black sharpie: neither of which, despite my fervent hopes, were washable!!

Washable markers are quite necessary. My kids are “supposed” to stay in the kitchen when they are being creative. Doesn’t always happen. I’ve had to use the magic eraser many a time. Would love this prize package!! Thanks for offering it!

I am glad that children are washable! And I am thankful to Shaklee for Basic H because it helps get the clothes free of stains! Seriously, my kids are always drawing on their legs and faces. My 3yo thinks she is a kitty has usually sports wiskers. My 6yo helps her, then they both have lines down their legs as well. Thankfully, 9yo doesn’t really get into it. She draws on paper. Yay.

I wish my acrylic craft paint was a little more washable- when my youngest was smaller he got into it in my bedroom and decided to be Picasso all over my bedroom floor with a little on the walls, TV & alarm clock as well. Yeah- momma was *not* happy. Trying to use scrapers to pick up tons of extra paint out of the carpet is not my idea of a good time. Luckily the carpet was old & we planned on replacing it anyways!
