I just love it when we have all the crayons, colored pencils, stacks of paper, clay and other art supplies all over the place while the children create!

I love when my brothers create men, birds, and all sorts of things with their oven bake clay. It is really fun to see how proud they are of what they made!

My favorite creative time is probably just getting out the finger paints and just letting my boys paint on paper on big spreads of newspaper.

I have one daughter who is very creative with tiny, detailed Sculpey clay creations. This summer we also got the Do*a*Dot sponge markers which pretty much everyone is enjoying!

My favorite ‘group thing’ to do with the girls is probably using freezer paper to make big paintings/banners and the like.

My children like printing colouring pages of their favourite characters from the internet and then using lots of colours to colour them in.

I’m excited that my kids (oldest is 6) are finally enjoying coloring and are actually trying to stay in the lines now. We have a box of miscellaneous craft items and lately when they get the box out they are always wanting me to cut out paper hearts for them to glue on their papers. That is about the extent of my participation with my kids in their creative endeavors. I’m usually working on making dinner while they create on the kitchen table.

I have 4 boys (1-10) and they all have a creative side to them. Especially our 5 year old. He is always asking to “do a craft”. One of his favorite things to do is color a picture and then cut it up and tape it together in pieces on a door. He also loves to draw pictures for people, even people he may have just met. As I type he is drawing a picture to send to a counseler at a camp that he met last week. This counceler glued back together a craft that Michael (my 5 year old) had made for someone else. Just before he handed it to her it fell on the floor and broke into pieces. Michael turned into his Daddy and his eyes welled up with tears. It has been exciting to watch our little boy use His God given talents to spread joy to others!

My son is 4 and just LOVES colors. He makes up his own names for his colors…Butterscotch yellow, earthworm brown, and so on. Crayola Color Wonder was the best thing since sliced bread back when “we” didnt keep things on the pages but now we use many of their products. Last week we even made a solar system in our driveway with chalk, not only did he learn but he was able to fly his rocket (trike) all over space and was back in time for dinner. =)
