Just so you know, if you ever have a pair of knit (or crochet) booties, you can always add your own tie. Both knitting and crocheting are loose enough that if you crochet a chain you will be able to thread it through the regular stitching and have yourself some ties to keep those things on the babies feet.

I’m not sure that I’m the best person to ask about diapers, but here are my $.02. First of all we do cloth to save money, so we didn’t buy anything very expensive at all. We use high quality Chinese prefolds and I make wool covers. The prefolds are just the regular flat diapers that our parents or grandparents used, just don’t go get the cheap ones from Wal-Mart. We did buy 2 wool covers for night time use, but now know that my homemade ones work just as well.

Congratulations on another baby!!

I’m hoping to post slightly more about knitting, but that means that I actually have to accomplish some projects. I’m working on a pair of FOREVER socks (size 0 needles) for my husband and also am tackling a complex (for me) cabled sweater for myself, so it will be slow going for a while.

I either knit, read or blog during rest time (sometimes) or in the evenings. My husband works VERY long hours and so when he is working on his computer during the evenings I usually do one of my hobbies. Also, remember that my kids are older than yours. In some ways that means that some things are easier.

I also tend to slow way down with knitting during the summer, but it’s starting to get cool and I’m getting the urge again.

I love your schoolroom! We have a schoolroom in the basement. It is painted a pretty blue. I designed it when we built the house. It has a huge walk in closet for storing all of my activities, art supplies, the kids’ work buckets, etc. I have maps on the wall across from the floor to ceiling built in wooden shelves. The schoolroom has a refrigerator (for drinks) and a long countertop for work space (laminator, paper cutter, cricut) as well as space for art projects to dry. Cabinets line the wall above the countertop. They store not currently use schoolbooks and resources, painting supplies, etc. The cabinets below store other art supplies and I have 6 legal sized filing drawers for my school and household files. We have a computer desk and another desk, plus a table that seats 6. I also have a little table for Leah and Sam. A piano and art easel plus 2 bookshelves and a “paper cabinet” round out the room. We have a half bath and another small closet in this room too. I took the rocking chair out after I finished nursing Sam, but sometimes I miss it. I put it in my kitchen where I sit and read aloud to the children while they are finishing breakfast. I do the majority of our read aloud time in that kitchen rocking chair or in our den.
