Not Me Monday: Grotto Falls

I did not get out of the shower one morning this week only to realize that I had shaved ONE leg.  I did not continue on about my day ignoring that fact and even if I had I would not have allowed the children to periodically come over and rub both of my legs and begin laughing hysterically.

When we were stopped behind a car at a red light and the light turned green, Kaitlin (11) did not say, “Let’s go, Buddy” to the driver of the car in front of us who was evidently paying less attention to the light than she was.  She is not at all like her daddy. :)

We did not go on a hike to Grotto Falls with friends of ours and their 5 children.  We would not be willing to take 14 children on a hike with only 4 adults to supervise and only 16 pairs of shoes between us (that would be 2 pairs of shoes short) and we certainly did not attempt this crazy stunt in the RAIN!Grotto Falls

This week our children enjoyed their window crayons and created this masterpiecewindow crayonswhich I promptly cleaned up. Our sliding glass door does not still look like this because I clean the windows faithfully each day and even if I didn’t the children help clean them, remember?Colby and Nick lick windowNick licking windowRaising Olives is more than cute kids, we also have information on how we homeschool , laundry management, teaching children to do chores, scheduling and saving money.  Oh, and lots more Not Me Mondays.

Those are great! That leg shaving thing is so something I would do these days.

That is hilarious. My kids do the leg thing if I just take too long between shaves. They start ging, “what’s that on your legs mommy???”

My oldest daughter started doing the sorry buddy anytime she hears a car honk their horn, rather we did anything or not.

I wish we lived somewhere with a waterfall like that. We live in Florida and everything is flat, sunny, and hot…..

LOL that you would go hiking with two pairs of shoes short. We went hiking on Mother’s Day and got to the departure point only to discover our ten-year-old was wearing her dress sandals from church.

You should see my windows, the dog cleans them while waiting to get inside, nice huh? That waterfall is really awesome, too bad I’ve got to drive 8 hours to see any IRL ;) , but I do have the beach! I can’t imagine taking kids out there sans shoes, how very brave you were indeed!

I love the photos of the family and friends at the falls and the kids helping to clean the windows. Too funny.

I used to have sliding glass doors….the animals on my front porch always helped “clean” mine…they were an assortment of dogs and cats from our local animal shelter! I had as many pets as you have children! Kudos on taking the children on the hike–even if you were short 2 pair of shoes!!! Blessings, Kathy

I just found your blog through MckMama! Your family is awesome. My husband is the baby of 14 so we can relate! Big families are the best! Although, I may just be sticking with 2. ;)
