Not Me Monday: Ice Cream and Tootsie Pops

I did not allow Colby (2) to eat an ice cream cone away from a table AND over the carpet with only a bib to ward off the disaster.  I’ve already gotten 7 children through their second year so I know what a mess an ice cream cone can create and I’m much too smart to create that much extra work for myself.Colby ice cream cone

Mark and I do not wax nostalgic at times and show our children TV commercials from our childhood on You Tube.  So after viewing the wise old owl and acquiring a Tootsie Pop of his own,  our 10 year old son does not now know that it takes 1,136 licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.  Not in our family.  Our children spend their time learning Greek, reading about China and reading through the Bible each year.  We don’t have time for old commercials or counting the number of licks to eat a Tootsie Pop.

I did not purchase every single bar of Skin Free Soap that our local Walgreen’s had in stock.  I am not addicted to that product and would certainly not make an extra trip to a store that I don’t normally shop at just to pick up some soap..

After the children went to bed last night Suzanne (19) and I did not dump out all of the Duplos so that we could play with them.  I pick up enough toys during the day without giving myself more to pick up after thechildren are asleep.

After my tease last week, my mom did not ask if she should worry about finding out about another grandchild on the way via the blog.  My mom knows better than that, right mom?

Saw your blog promoted on the Blog Frog this morning when I logged on!!! :-)

And we NEVER let our children eat ice cream in the house either – definitely don’t let them lick their plates or the table to get every. last. drop. Not us!

We also do not log onto you tube and show our children those old commercials…nope, uh uh, they have not seen the ‘Where’s the Beef?’ commerical a bunch of times!

You had me laughing your whole post. Loved it…especially that you and your daughter dumped those duplos out to play… oh, wait, that you did not dump them out to play.

Loved this peek into all the things that you would never do! Real life is always more interesting than contrived posts that try to portray life as a sunny moments strung together in one continual day after another.

    Veronica,
We are going to have to show them the “where’s the beef” :) .

    Courtney,
We did that one time, took a picture of our youngest child with a onesie that said, “I’m a BIG sister” it didn’t work as well as we had envisioned! Feel free to add my blog to your list, thank you.

Ha! I totally “did not” let our families know of the last pregnancy via email. :)
I would love to add you to my blog list-if you don’t mind.
    Blessings!

You have quite an extraordinary family! How fun it must be to have so many little ones!! I am only on my first and sometimes I have to catch my breath :) That’s usually when he’s throwing his food on the floor and refusing to eat his lunch LOL

Thank you for visiting my blog and I would be very interested in having you host a give away of one of my products. I am currently creating my blog store online and making more hats to be photographed (getting children to model them for me) etc. I would be looking at about at least a week or so from now to host that give away.

Please email me at so I get in contact with you soon. Thank you very much!
PS I tried accessing your email address from your blogger profile and I don’t have Outlook Explorer, so I couldn’t even view it.

    Warm Regards,
    April
