I'm drinking a can of ginger ale every day right now. Like you said, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, but it's a nice treat.

Just scanning through the morning sickness remedies brings back such memories. Thank You, Lord, for menopause! :-)

We are not pop drinkers as a family, but ginger ale was a constant during morning sickness time. I hated knowing that I was taking in so many empty calories! My solution - I diluted it half and half with water. Still worked about as well as the straight ginger ale (which means it worked some times/didn't work others) but I felt better about what was going in to my body!

Thank you Julie. I've never gone gluten free, but do tend to cut way down on carbs (just what my body wants).

I am so sorry you are having Morning sickness, but am greatful for your Faith and your last blog update. It is hard to not complain when you don't feel good and you are going about this so gracefully! I love to see God working!
I also was sick with all my pregnancies, but more with my girl (3rd child) and last boy(4th). I had hyperthyroidism with my last and never knew it with the other preganancies and this is something that doesn't go away unless you take meds your whole life. It has gone away and I had to take medicine during my pregnancy. Although I don't recommend this medicine (PTU), but I feared losing the baby at the time. The only thing that helped with my 24 hour per day nausea was Zofran. It is also a medicine, for nausea, but helped me get through my days and they say it is safe. I was since dx. with Celiac disease and I think that was the cause of my thyroid levels and possibly my morning sickness. Have you tried going gluten free for a couple weeks to see if that helps with morning sickness? Praying for you!

I feel rather guilty not having been sick one day with five babies, but I must say I would love the sickness rather than knowing I won't be having any more.....

My dad was very sick with cancer and was give raw ginger to suck/chew on. Took away the sickness. Maybe it would help.

I totally understand the logic! I threw up that yucky bile every morning with my first pregnancy and then sipped juice the rest of the day.

A doctor recommended Unisom and B6 at about 20 weeks with my second pregnancy. With my third pregnancy, I have taken Unisom and B6 alternated with Odansetron (Zolfran). Since about 20 weeks, I only need the Odansetron when I go out, but still need to take the Unisom and B6 at night.

I hate taking the medication and I hate funtioning at such a low level all the time. I feel so unproductive. We wanted so badly to have a large family, but it's so hard to consider another pregnancy with morning sickness and three little kids running around.

I'm inspired by moms who have endured so many pregnancies with bad morning sickness.

Oh, and eating several small meals throughout the day rather than three regular ones is also said to help.

One of my obstetricians suggested the following. I tried it, and it really did help. Only have beverages or soups BETWEEN meals, not with the actual meal. It sounded strange to me, but it actually helped me, and another friend who had morning sickness too. Good luck.

I suffered horrible morning sickness during the better part of five months during my first two pregnancies, even with the "help" of Zofran. When I got pregnant with my third, I vowed to try anything and had success with acupuncture. The more I went, the better I felt and only vomited twice the whole pregnancy. I still didn't feel great, but it sure beat throwing-up all day. Hope you feel better soon.

I love love love your blog. I'm a new reader of yours and have been homeschooling three boys for seven years. The only thing that worked for me for any morning sickness that I had was pink lemon-aid and plain potato chips ~ together. It had to be pink. There is something about that combo that works wonders! Many blessings to you and your family!

Now that is funny to me, smelling Trix cereal. I wonder if it is the same effect as those who recommend lemon.

Praying I can figure out my key. I do tend to protein load in my first trimester and it used to help a bit. Perhaps my age is catching up with me.

I've been trying to snack on beans as I can and I tried some lemon juice in water today. That was surprisingly helpful.

I'm adding Cinnamon Altoids to our shopping list.

Thanks!

Thank you for your prayers. Between pregnancies I think, "Next time I'm just going to tough it out and keep going. I don't know why I'm such a wimp when I'm pregnant." Then it hits! Nope, not used to it and can't ignore it, but I can thank God for His mercy!

Yes, sometimes it's good to just throw the weight gain thought out the window. Until you hit the second trimester and realize that you shouldn't gain another pound. :) At this point, I'm not really caring.
