I did not sit and watch Nicholas (1 1/2) run toward the coffee table, trip, fall and smack his face into the edge of the table chipping both of his front teeth before realizing what was happening and jumping up to help him. Nope, I always have that “mommy sense”, know what is coming next and leap into action to PREVENT it. (Oh, the mommy guilt.)
I put the children in charge of decorations for Thanksgiving day. They did not decorate themselves.
I did not cross things off of my Thanksgiving to-do list that were not done because I realized that I did not have the energy to do them. Nope, I got everything done, the house was perfect, everything spectacularly decorated and all the food made from scratch. The master bedroom was certainly not so messy that the children were warned not to open the door under any circumstances.
We did not have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner anyway.
After Thanksgiving dinner we all (21 of us) went downstairs and watched a video. I did not throw some pillows on the floor, grab a blanket and promptly sleep through the whole thing. Nope, as the hostess of Thanksgiving I made sure everyone had what they needed and I would not consider sleeping with a house full of guests.
Mark did not just come in here and ask me, 8 weeks pregnant me, how much I gained over Thanksgiving. Smart alek!

MARK….shame on you!!! What’s that?….you were checking to make sure that your 10th child in your wife’s womb was getting all the nutrients he/she needs? Oh, well in that case. I loved seeing those pictures, as your family has been such a joy in my life for many years now. I am sure the nap you got in front of the movie was one of the best…..surrounded by family on a very special holiday!!
