Sasha Sews: Apron Giveaway and Review

Lovely fabrics, sweet designs and hand crafted quality, Sasha Sews Etsy shop offers aprons, bags, purses and more. Sasha sent me a Mandy J Reversible Hostess apron to try out.  Imagine my delight as I opened the package to see this gorgeous hostess apron.  (Mark had to suffer through my oohing and aahing and trying it on immediately, but he’s a good sport.) It is beautiful, pretty enough even to wear with guests in the home.  Made of a nice quality, designer fabric and flattering to all body types, yes, I will be wearing this on Thanksgiving Day.

Sasha does a nice job with the construction and the fabric is scrumptious.  Just check out the detail of the pocket on the reverse side and the wide reversible ties that are long enough to tie in front or back.Sasha has a variety of aprons, baby bibs, hand bags, purses, totes, even coffee and card cozies currently in her Etsy Shop.  What girl wouldn’t love a pretty handmade apron or handbag for Christmas?

Sasha is giving one Raising Olives reader a Mandy J Reversible Hostess Apron in the fabric of your choice.

  • I like the gorgeous Paradise Garden, and not just because it reminds me of my favorite Thanksgiving food- homemade cranberry sauce! Mind-bogglingly, there are still people in my extended family who actually PREFER the stuff that slides out of a can in one piece. Gobsmacked is what I am by that! Thankfully I have trained my own children to like the real thing best :)

Seriously, these aprons are lovely! I am almost tempted to go make myself a new apron just from looking at them.

I love the Mandy J or Erica fabric. What a super cute apron with that bow on the side. My favorite at Thanksgiving is the turkey. Love it during and after for leftovers.

  • I love the Paradise Garden fabric!

My favorite Thanksgiving food is the fresh bread or rolls with butter. Mmmmm. Gravy and mashed potatoes comes in second, with apple pie being third. Okay, now I’m hungry so I’m going to plan our Thanksgiving food!

All of the fabrics look lovely. I love anything that really looks feminine. I love all the gingerbread recipes this time of year… ginger bread, ginger bread men cookies, ginger snaps, etc. I would make ginger bread every morning this time of year if we wouldn’t possibly get tired of it. If that was possible….

Paradise Garden! It’s cold in the house this morning (the fire didn’t last the night) and that fabric looks so warm and summery! (Only four and a half more months ’til SPRING!!)

I’m with Lindsey in AL on the homemade cranberry sauce. My children are horrified that some poor families have to eat the canned stuff. (“Have to” is their assumption; they have never even considered that some people might actually CHOOSE to! lol) Lindsey, have you ever served the still warm cranberry sauce over vanilla ice cream? Oh, wow! It looks so pretty, and it tastes amazing! My grandfather used to love that, so every time I serve that it comes with a dollop of old family stories for good measure.

Hi! OK, the whole cranberry thing is great – that is EXACTLY what I was going to put as my favorite dish. I make a simple, yet delicious cranberry/apple/orange relish. I crave it!

I love the “Dance with Me” and “Paradise Garden” fabrics.

Oh, voted for you in all categories. It only let me vote once!

    Love – K

I would take any of the fantastic fabrics, but I like the Amy Butler Bali Gate fabric that you recieved best! I love the green bean casserole at Thanksgiving :)

    [Reply]

  • I liked the Trailing Cherry one! And my favorite food is sweet potatoes! I could eat them all day!

    [Reply]

  • I love all of the fabrics! My favorite one for that apron however is the one you received, the Bali Gate fabric.

I love all of the wonderful foods during the holidays, but since “Thanksgiving dinner” is my husband’s favorite (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls), I actually make it all through the year. Its the “extras” (and the friends/family we share the day with) that makes it so special. So, I’s have to say for my favorite its a toss up between the Yams (dessert in veggie camo!) and the egg nog. I can make my favorite yams any time though, the egg nog I can only get for two months!

I like all the fabrics but like the one you have the best:) (Amy Butler Bali Green)

I love all Thanksgiving foods, but I am always excited for stuffing.

I really like the one you have best but I also like the paradise garden fabric. I love candied yams at Thanksgiving dinner…yummy!

I like the Bali Gate (green) on the best. Pretty!

  • I love the Paradise Garden fabric. For Thanksgiving, my favorite thing is ROLLS! I love all the other stuff, too, but rolls are what I really look forward to. My mom used to make dozens and dozens, so we’d have them for a few days. (They’d have lasted longer if my family was smaller.) She makes so many different kinds that it’s a real feast for the eyes and the taste buds.

I love the Garden Maze fabric by Amy Butler! Favorite food would have to be my husbands famous homemade mashed taters! He truly makes the best smoothest and very well seasoned mashed taters! Drooling just thinking about it! lol

  • Oh my… this is difficult. I believe my favorite would be something rather un-traditional to some. We only have broccoli, cheese, rice casserole on Thanksgiving and Christmas and so that is probably my favorite, because it is just something we all look forward to. No, it isn’t made in a healthy way, so that is why we only have it on special days. :)
My favorite fabric is the Paradise Garden, just gorgeous.
    I would LOVE to win!
    Thanks,
    Chas

  • Thank you so much for a great giveaway! I love the Paradise Garden fabric – simply because Red is my favorite color. No surprise then, that my favorite Thanksgiving food is Cranberry Relish – my grandmother has a simple, but absolutely delicious recipe that my Dad always takes charge of. It will be fun to see him make it this year with his grandkids. Blessings,
    Michelle

My favorite thanksgiving food is … um … either the turkey or my Mom/Sister’s home made dressing/stuffing to go with it. LOL!!

  • Add me to the list of those that really like the Paradise Garden print. My favorite Thanksgiving food would have to be the sweet potato muffins that I started making a few years ago.

  • I like the fabric and apron Sweet floral yo yo hostess. Love the way the flowers are on there. Too cute.

    [Reply]

  • I love the exact fabric of yours – Bali Gate. Its really hard to pinpoint my favorite Thanksgiving food – I like almost all of it – except Cranberry Sauce! So I’m the odd one out. Stuffing and gravy are my top faves!

    [Reply]

  • Sarah H.

Amy Butler Paradise Garden in deep red wine is my fav fabric choice, and Stuffing is my favorite thanksgiving food.

  • Paradise Garden would be my favorite of the choices However, I really need a full body apron!! I have too many favorites!! Love dressing with a side of a cranberry/apple/outmeal dish. Love the blueberry/cream cheese pie that is a perennial as well.

I like the Garden Maze fabric, but I’m not sure if I like it because of the beauty of the fabric or because it is made up into the cutest apron I have ever seen! Amazing items Sasha!

I like the chocolate pudding pie that my grandma always used to make (all from scratch of course). The all you can eat pie is the best part of Thanksgiving food.

    [Reply]

  • I like the hot pink fabric in the sweet candy basket…so happy! Well I would have to say raisin pie…or dressing with chestnuts…or pumpkin pudding. Ohh this is too hard!

    [Reply]

  • The paradise garden fabric is beautiful! For Thanksgiving, I like my mom’s dumplings.

  • Leslie

That is too funny – just yesterday I wrote down that I needed to get an apron because I keep getting my shirts all dirty when I cook!If I won, I would choose the Mandy J. style.
My favorite Thanksgiving food??? Too many to choose from. I like sweet candied yams, cranberry relish (homemade not from a can) and the turkey itself! Oh, ya, the stuffing is awesome too!

If I blog about this, how do I link to this specific blog?

    [Reply]

  • Mandy J Apron. So my style. And I love the turkey the most…now that we brine it…because the sandwiches the next day are amazing!

I like the trailing cherry material, and my favorite Thanksgiving food is green bean casserole! It’s the only time all year I get to enjoy it!

I like the paradise garden fabric. And as for favorite Thanksgiving food… I’d have to go with Rutabaga! I know it’s unusual, but my Mom always made this with our turkey dinners. Now I do the same! They are hard to find sometimes though!

  • Tammy

I like the Paradise Garden fabric and my favorite Thanksgiving food is mashed veggies with lots of gravy!

  • I like the Amy Butler Cherry or Purple Paisley. I don’t use an apron and I am constantly stain fighting – I really should have one. I’ve been looking recently, but money is so tight and I have no place for a sewing machine in our small house (even the dining room table is in use right now – and not for eating.) I would happily put an apron to good use!

My favorite Thanksgiving food is TURKEY! Oh, and pie. And mashed potatoes. Uhm, stuffing with apples, raisins, and cranberries is good too. Did I mention apple crisp? I guess I don’t have a “favorite” – I like it all. But really, it’s all the reasons to be thankful that make the day!

  • Oh, these aprons are lovely. My favorite is the trailing cherry fabric. It reminds me of the most lovely flowers I saw in China at a very special time in my life.

Thanksgiving – my favorite dish is a cranberry dish I prepare each year. It’s my favorite because it was a tradition my mom started by teaching me, that I am now passing on to my girls. I have many many years of fun memories of grinding cranberries and apples using a hand grinder, first grinding them with my mom and now grinding them with my girls. :)
