Not Me Monday: Diapers and Jeans

Just after I had gotten Nicholas ready for bed one of the children spilled water all over the floor.  I did not grab the jeans that I’d just taken off of Nicholas and proceed to mop up the puddle.  I always use the proper tool for the job.

Mark got the kids a special treat, sweet cereal to have for dinner after church on Sunday evening.  All the children were given the same type of cereal.  However, when I looked into the bowls of the two children sitting next to me this is not what I saw.

Odd, odd children!

And last, but not least.

Uhhhhh, nope!

You can read a lot more Raising Olives’ Not Me’s.  One reader favorite is Dames, Trains and Automobeetles.   For something a little more serious you may read my, in progress, series about keeping your child’s heart or how we keep up with all of our laundry.

I’ve totally used clothing items to wipe up spills… The way I see it is “efficient” and “not wasteful” as I’m already using something that was headed for the laundry! lol

Certainly “efficient” is the word. That’s exactly what I told the college student who lives with us when she began laughing at me.

I also never use whatever is around to mop up water, or as a burp cloth! I agree with Ruth, it is just a way to be efficient with laundry!

Yeah, I’ve never used dirty laundry for mopping up spills. That would be silly. : )

Hi! Can I just say I love your blog? I am a single 25 year old nurse…but I LOVE all your home-making tips and love reading about your family. Anyhow, unrelated to this post, but sometime could you post about the other cleaning supplies you make yourself? I already make my own laundry detergent (LOVE it!) and would love to be able to do more! Thanks! : )

Did Nick put that on his own head or did he have a little “help?” Too funny! I found Andrew this week with one half of his face covered in foundation. If I just add a little color and he will be ready to cheer on his favorite sports team!

Hmmm…Kind of like when dh and I had to use a onesie, sleeper, and (unused) diapers to mop up an entire sippy cup of milk that spilled in the church pew in the middle of the sermon?! Good times! Never dull!
