Check out our large family gift guide for tried and true gifts everyone will love.

Which Way Do You Roll?

Cottonelle is sponsoring a roll poll.

So are you a team over or a team under when it comes to your toilet paper?  Our family is a team over. If you are old enough to change the toilet paper roll in this house, you already know that the paper should come over the top.  I mean it’s the only way, right?

By leaving a comment on this post you will be entered to win one of ten Cottonelle gift baskets randomly chosen on January 29 from all entries. So comment away.  Do you think our family is right or wrong?

By posting about this poll and giveaway and being a member of the Mom Bloggers Club, I’m entering a contest to win a month’s worth of Cottonelle toilet paper.  Please help us to “wipe” out a huge line item on our grocery bill this month. :)

I guess we are non-conformist. I gave up along time ago trying to keep a roll on the hanger – ours just sits on the cabinet to the right of the the “facilities”.

We were an “over” family until those super large rolls became the norm. The roll was too heavy to turn and we’d end up tearing off one square at a time. It was frustrating and time consuming, so we switched to “under”. When we use small rolls, it’s still over, but mostly now it’s under because those large rolls dominate the toilet paper aisle.

Over. The sensible way. And this is why:

Studies show that when the toilet paper is on the roll this way, people tend to tear off less. This saves money.

When it’s under, it’s more likely to lay against the wall, and bathroom walls are notoriously unsanitary. This is gross.

It unrolls faster when it’s under which can also cause it to run right down to the floor. UBERgross.

If you’re going to let your family know that you cleaned the bathroom by folding the toilet paper to a point, it doesn’t work so well when it’s under.

So, switch people! Do it the BEST way!

ha ha ha, you are all wrong! UNDER is best (especially if you have toddlers). See, little hands like to pat the paper roll with their little hands until toilet paper is all over the bathroom floor. However! If it is UNDER, they can pat all day and the toilet paper stays put. (he he, that is why I switched ~ ne’er a problem since). *Ü*

I prefer OVER, definitely. However, since the toilet paper roll was pulled out of the wall in my bathroom, I now use a fancy wrought iron paper towel holder that sits on the floor and I stack two rolls of toilet paper on there. So, in that case, it comes from the side, not over the top!
