Cottonelle is sponsoring a roll poll.
So are you a team over or a team under when it comes to your toilet paper? Our family is a team over.
If you are old enough to change the toilet paper roll in this house, you already know that the paper should come over the top. I mean it’s the only way, right?
By leaving a comment on this post you will be entered to win one of ten Cottonelle gift baskets randomly chosen on January 29 from all entries. So comment away. Do you think our family is right or wrong?
By posting about this poll and giveaway and being a member of the Mom Bloggers Club, I’m entering a contest to win a month’s worth of Cottonelle toilet paper. Please help us to “wipe” out a huge line item on our grocery bill this month.

I like the response given by our oldest daughter at her college orientation night. That was the question each student in her group had to answer when they took the stage and introduced themselves – “in a family my size, I’m just happy there is a roll there, not whether it is up or down”
of course, myself, I always hang it OVER.

Honestly I am just happy if it gets replaced!

Over…has to be over. I would go crazy with it being under. lol. I hope you get the supply of toilet paper!
[Reply]
Over, it’s the only way.
[Reply]
It is a blessing if it gets replaced but when it is, prefer under.
[Reply]
Over is the only way to roll!
[Reply]
I never took notice before. Im just happy its on the holder =).
For the record… we <3 cottonelle. Its the only one we use… seriously!

Count me in!
The toilet paper should hang over the top…..folded to a point!
But not at our house…..it gets put up high, then doled out…never on the spring loaded stick thingy. With 6 kiddos and God willing more we always have young ones that love to play in the bathroom!
Potty training + small do it yourself child = Mess!….and to much paper used and a clogged toilet!
Blessings,
Georgiann

Over is the ‘correct’ way.
However, we have a psychotic cat who pulls the toilet paper down and shreds it if she decides we haven’t fed her appropriately. So the TP in the main bathroom goes ‘under’ as that makes it more difficult for her to unroll and shred.
My husband keeps threatening to make her into a nice pair of mittens, but so far she lives, and makes our lives more interesting.

We are most certainly an over family! Honestly I was never very aware of this fact growing up until my mother came home from a bridal shower one day where that had been a highly debated item between the bride and grooms families – this quickly lead to a debate in our own home and identified the few who had been putting the TP in the “wrong” way!
[Reply]
Definitely over! If it gets put on the wrong way I take it off and change it (I know, I’m a little compulsive).
[Reply]
Over! I am one of those that will change the roll around if it’s the “wrong” way.
[Reply]
It HAS to be over!! I have been known to change it in other people’s homes when it is not OVER! LOL
[Reply]
Over the top unless you have a toddler…then under because he/she cannot stand there and hit is and have it all come off, if it comes from under it just spins around and around…but over the top otherwise. Kim
[Reply]
Is it bad that I honestly never even think about which way it goes? However its put on is how we use it until its gone! :0)
[Reply]
You are absolutely right. =0) We are a roll over family too.
[Reply]
Over and folded is the proper way, but at our house it is under for now as old habits in some die hard and there are bigger issues in life to whine about.
[Reply]
It has to be over. You can’t find the end when it is under. When the kids were smaller, I tried the under to prevent them unrolling the whole roll. That didn’t work. They unrolled it anyway!
[Reply]
I usually do over. Although I am coming around to my husband’s preference of under, the toddler/pet rolling off the roll is one of the benefits. I still put it over out of habit.
[Reply]
although i totally agree with whoever said they are merely happy that the empty toilet paper roll was replaced…i am an over the top kind of girl. that’s the only way.
[Reply]
Always over.
[Reply]
Let’s just put it this way–if the roll is ever under–I change it to over! My children tend to just leave the roll sitting on top, so I too am happy if it’s replaced!
[Reply]
Over…because in the middle of the night, I’m not awake enough to find the end. If it comes off the top I can spin it and it unrolls enough to help me find the end in the dark. I never thought of keeping toddlers from unrolling it by turning it around, that’s a really good idea.
[Reply]
Under. Over drives me crazy for some reason!
[Reply]
Definitely over! And, I’m so happy that my four year old loves to put on a fresh roll, and he knows the correct way already!
[Reply]
We’re a Team Over.
funny thing is, I USED to be a Under…don’t know what happened. (maybe it has something to do w/ maturity?! lol)
[Reply]
Girl you are…………….so right! Definitely over. But to be honest I never quite pay attention when I am putting it on. :/
[Reply]
Roll OVER, Roll OVER! The TP rolls OVER and the TP falls OFF, there’s never enough in the closet, you can never have enough, roll OVER, roll OVER!
That reminds me of a song… Hope you win!
[Reply]
NO NO NO! It HAS to come out from the bottom!!!!!!
[Reply]
OVER. Drives me batty going the other way!!!
[Reply]
my vote is for over!
[Reply]
oh LOVE Cottonelle. Its the only brand I buy… and the rolls are always under… it drives me NUTS if its over… I take it off and fix it when I see it over LOL
[Reply]
Read an arcticle thad said that an American hotel chain (don’t remember which one – sorry) saved 25 % or more on their toilet paper by rolling under, then that’s the way!
Funny poll by the way
[Reply]
We set it on the back of the toilet, but if it were to be hung it would be under.
[Reply]
Always over–because otherwise the cats unroll it LOL me–i could care less because usually Dh just sits it on a table NEAR the potty <3
[Reply]
Would HAVE to be under!!! Even though I tooo am just glad if someone else other than me gets around to putting a new one on !!!
[Reply]
We are always over. I always switch it if someone else puts it on under, but after reading Charlotte’s post, I might have to keep track of our usage for a while and then switch to under for a while and compare. If it could save us some money on this necessity, I am willing to adjust to a switch.
[Reply]
I definitely prefer it over. Thankfully, my family is on the same page with me.
[Reply]
Oh, it has to be over, for sure!
[Reply]
over at our house too!
[Reply]
I was told years ago by DH that the proper way was over, until then I never gave it any thought. I think that is what the kids do when they change a roll, but I’ve never really paid much attention. Like someone else said, I’m just happy the empty rolls get changed!
[Reply]
the kids never put the tp in the holder…..but I’m definitely an UNDER person!
[Reply]
we are over, no way about it. no really i think we are a both family, we go through so much toilet paper that you would never notice. although i do prefer it over
[Reply]
Most of us in the family put in with the roll over. It just seems the right way to be!
[Reply]
Well when it actually makes it on a holder we are an over team.
[Reply]
I never realized this was a discussion – I thought everyone preferred it OVER.
[Reply]
I completely agree that over is the only way!!
[Reply]
The boys don’t seem to care, but I say over!
[Reply]
I vote for ‘over’ , however, if it goes ‘under’ then it does seem to help keep the babies from getting it so easy.
[Reply]
Over is definitely the only way! I’m the lady who will change it if it is under…. even at other people’s houses. LOL
