90 Day Challenge: Half Way

The Psalms, chapters of praise and thanksgiving, chapters of pleading and remorse.  These verses so familiar that many times you can close your eyes and continue “reading” the passage from memory.  This is the first point in our 90 day challenge that the quick pace has seemed too quick, where I have wished for more time to dwell in these passages.  The passages are so rich and deep and speak so to our human part, less story and more insight into the heart of man.

“Bless the Lord, Oh my soul and all that is within my bless His holy Name.”

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence shall my help come?  My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.  He will not allow your foot to slip.  He who keeps you will not slumber.”

“Vindicate me, oh God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!”

Our family continues to stay up with the pace.  I think there is a huge advantage in having several family members partaking together.  It helps with the accountability.

We are halfway through, how is the challenge going for you?  How was your journey through the Psalms?  Please link up an update post or leave a comment here so that our family will be able to more specifically pray for you.  Also don’t forget to link up tomorrow at Mom’s Toolbox.

Oh Kim, I am behind for the first time! I was doing so well, all of January. Then February hit, and well, I don’t even know what happened. Anyhow, lets just say, I am in Psalm 37! yikes! But I love the accountability this challenge! Even though I am behind, I am so driven to finish with everyone else. Which means WAYYYYYY less computer time, and the blog gets neglected. But what a small compromise, huh? For the glories riches of His word are immeasurable.

Yes, small compromise. Keep going and I hope to hear that you are back on schedule next Sunday.

I feel like I’ve been out of the loop the past week. I had to come to Montana to help my mom out(she had surgery on her shoulder) and I’m still here. I’m hoping to go home in a few days. Things are going good for her though, and I’m only 1 1/2 days behind on the 90 day challenge. I feel like that isn’t too bad, for all that’s been going on. I still read every day even though some days I’m not able to read all the passages.
Thank you for your prayer and blessing to you all!

Only 1 1/2 days behind with traveling. Way to go. I honestly think that reading EVERY DAY is the most important, that’s the habit that we want to form.

I, too, am struggling with the pace through Psalms. So many songs are triggered in my head as I am reading, and I keep realising that I have stopped reading – yet again! – as I sing beautiful songs taken straight from scripture. I’m halfway through today’s reading – and halfway through the whole challenge!

I agree this was hard to keep the pace in Psalms and divided my reading to a few chapters at a time, and then came back latter. So far so good.

I love Psalms. My Sunday school teacher always says that the book of Psalms is perfect when you need a quick “snack” and don’t have time for a “whole meal” of Bible reading. I could read several passages over and over. You are a great inspiration, thank you!!
