Jean Welles Worship Guitar Class

This giveaway in now closed.

I gave our kids the option to participate in the worship guitar class if they wished.  Matthew (10) was the only one who initially wanted to try.  However after a few lessons, when our older girls Kaitlin (12) and Amber (13) saw that he was able to play a few worship songs all on his own, they decided that they were interested after all.  :)

Jean Welles Worship Guitar Class enables you or your children (10 and up) to learn to play worship music at home.  Worship Guitar is a series of four DVD’s that build upon each other and teach the student in a progressive manner to play worship songs.  Our family was given a copy of the first DVD in order to write this review.

The DVD begins with introducing the parts of the guitar and some basics of strumming and holding the guitar.  In each of the 7 subsequent lessons the child learns one to two new chords and/or a new strumming pattern and by the end of each lesson they are able to play a new song.

The lessons build upon each other using the chords and strumming patterns learned in previous lessons to play more and more complex songs.  Everything is clearly explained and shown on the DVD so the kids were able to learn to play simply and easily.  You may view an excerpt of the first lesson here.

Our children had great success with this program.  They were motivated and able to learn on their own and enjoyed practicing the songs that the DVD’s introduced.  They especially enjoyed being able to play while others were singing.

Jean Welles also offers a Worship Guitar Class for Kids ages 5-9.

Now the great news.  You do not need to take my word about Jean Welles Worship Guitar Class.  One reader will win one of the Jean Welles DVDs.  The winner will be able to choose either the first DVD in the Worship Guitar series ($24.95) or the Worship Guitar Class for Kids ($29.95).

Our daughter got a guitar for Christmas and is working hard to learn to play it. She would love this DVD set I’m sure. We would be interested in the beginning level as she is 10 years old.
Thank you for this chance to win.

My son is three. He loves all stringed instruments. He has a guitar and a banjo that he plays at church. He is now old enough to start learning a little more than just strumming. This would be great.

Do you think this would be appropriate for adults as well? My husband would love to learn how to play the guitar, and worship music would be delightful.

I think it would be wonderful for adults. It is actually tempting me to pick up a guitar, but honestly I have enough other things on my list without starting something else. ;)

We would love it if we won the Worship Guitar Class. My husband and daughter already have guitars and my 9 yr old son wants to learn too. It is just so hard to find Godly guitar instructors.

Austin would LOVE this. He received his first guitar for Christmas this year. He has been tinkering with it, using you tube video lessons. This would be awesome! He has been trying very hard on his own, but I do not know how to play, and can not afford to take him to someone for lessons right now. This would be a HUGE blessing for him. :-) Thanks!

My daughter has been trying to play the guitar since she used her own money to buy a pink guitar. The begining DVD would be great to help her learn. She just turned 10. If she learned the basics I would be willing to get her a “real” guitar to practice with.

Even thou the entry date has ended I would love her advance video series. I played on a worship team for many years. I never learned advance skills. Recently the team was suddenly disbanded and in an attempt to rise above it all I am seeking a higher level of praise and worship to my Father. God Bless, Debbie Swain
