It seems to be the hot topic of conversation for the last several weeks among all the bloggers who are going to BlissDom. What are you going to wear? What are you going to wear? I must admit I have felt a little left out of the conversation.
I’m just a stay at home, homeschooling mom of many who goes to church each week and every year we take an overnight getaway to the hospital and come home with another baby. So all this talk about style and fashion and I get a little nervous.
I decided to start with the obvious. Rather than show you what I’m going to be wearing at BlissDom, I decided to show you some of the things that I will NOT be packing.
I will not be taking my penguin pajamas. These are my kid’s favorite pair of pajamas. When I wear these on I’m greeted by squeals of delight and thanks ringing from the ceiling. However, I’m fairly certain that 100′s of flannel penguins won’t be as impressive to the other 30 somethings that I’ll be rooming with at BlissDom.
Even though I’m still going to be in the south, my southern Christmas sweatshirt will not be making the trip.
And last but not least, my very favorite drab olive Motherwear nursing/paint shirt will be staying home.
Here are a couple of things that may make their way into my BlissDom suitcase.
This week is crazy busy at our house, but stick around, next week normal blogging should resume and the wonderful, thoughtful and creative posts that you’ve come to expect will (hopefully) resume with more posts on keeping your child’s heart, homeschooling and even some long promised birth stories.

I LOVE the description of your children in regards to your penguin pajamas. I have a pair of pajamas with such magical powers as well. And I agree with Morgan, that black top is very cute!

Mental note: Buy flannel penguin pajamas to amuse my child.
I love what you’ve chosen so far – you’ll look great. Expectant mommies always look wonderful. Well, except me. The last few months I looked like Baby Beluga.

Your first statement was correct. Expectant mommies always look wonderful. No exceptions.
Besides baby Beluga’s can be cute.

You’re way ahead of me, even with your paint stained shirt. My husband teases me that at any given moment I’m wearing at least 3 articles of clothing with holes. He’s usually right, too! Come to think of it, I am wearing the same clothes I had on yesterday. Oh, well, cuts down on laundry, right?

Anything to save on laundry.
I spoke with Robin about your questions. If I don’t email you in the next day or two, email and remind me.

I think you should definitely take the penguin jammies. They are soooo cute and you have to wear jammies! Also, the shirt in the bottom picture is a “must-go”!
I love your line about the overnight get away to the hospital – I almost choked on my coffee!
Thanks for sharing a piece of your world with us!

One of the women at BlissDom came up to me and said that she had read this post and had the exact pair of penguin pjs. It’s a small world if another blogger has the same pair of pajamas that I do.

You are going to have so much fun! And you will look cute too!
I love the black shirt, but I can’t tell what the pink thingy is.
Can’t wait to hear all about it!

It’s a shirt with a black ruffly shawl. Hard to tell when I take the picture on top of my black coffee table.
I had a great time!
I’m debating whether to post about it, not sure how many of my readers are bloggers.

I TOTALLY want the black and white top. Me, all the way. Btw, found you via Gen’s blog. I’m a homeschool mom too. I only have 4, but my “only” is God’s great blessing. He sent them all to us via adoption and that’s a pretty large family as foster-to-adopt goes. I’ll be back to check your blog out again when we get home from our upcoming vaction.
Blessings,
Toni

I’m so glad that you found your way here thanks to Gen.
No need to use the term “only” just because God has given us 10. Children are a blessing, no matter what the number and did you know that a full quiver is not necessarily the same number? God does all that best.
Thank you for being willing to foster-to-adopt. There is such a need. We have seriously looked into doing that. God has given us a burden for sibling groups (especially Hispanic) that are stuck in the foster system. However, in our state you are not allowed to have more than 5 children in the home, so they won’t even consider us.
Thank you for loving and caring for those precious children!

Thanks for the laugh! I have a hideous bathrobe that the kids and I love. Would hate to ever be seen in it though – lol.

Your wardrobe sounds like mine. I love my pyjamas because they’re so comfortable and I’ve bought most of my maternity clothes at thrift stores. As far as the overnight at the hospital, sadly, that’s my reality. I look forward to having a night away with my newborn, even if the bed is uncomfortable!

I LOVE your statement about the overnight stay at the hospital. I told my husband that staying in the hospital after having a baby was the closest I was going to get to a spa and I was going to milk it for all it was worth.

BlissDom is a blogging conference in Nahsville. There were 500 attendees and sessions all day Friday and Saturday with parties each evening.
It is a great opportunity to connect with other bloggers and to learn more about blogging and social media.

Just wanted to say hope you had a good time at BlissDom, On Feb. 2 2010 I took an over night get away at the Hospital and came home with our 3rd child. I like reading your blog while I nurse him. I also am thinking about home schooling.
