This sounds excellent! I have not applied enough time to addressing art in our curriculum. We have done some lessons with the Thomas Kinkade DVD curriculum and the children enjoyed that.

Growing up, my sister was “the artist”. But, not until I was an adult, did I realize that I have my own style. I’m enjoying art with my children, and learning along side of them.

My daughter is our ‘artist’. She draws and doodles and paints and crafts all day long. She has filled notebook after notebook with her sketches. She would love this book!

We have gone through two Artistic Pursuit books. I love them because their so easy. I often find myself doing the projects right along with the kids. I also enjoy them because they support our history time line that we’re doing. My kids love the projects and the lessons. These books have really helped them to not only draw, paint, etc., but also to put it into context with our history. Great blog and now a great resource for me!

I’m gonna have to call in some serious help for my kids in art. I’m just not artistic. My 5yo seems very interested in drawing, though! I hope to keep him interested. This would be a great way to encourage him in art.

I heart art! Majored in clay and graphic design in college. My eldest (age 7) is a self-proclaimed artist as well. The younger ones can’t wait to keep up with her. We have one artistic pursuits book that I have not dug into yet, but I am excited to do so. Thanks for this opportunity!

We don’t have an art curriculum yet, we have an all inclusive curriculum that works for now, but I would love to have a curriculum that we could use when they are a bit older. My 8 year old has a really good eye for all things art, I would love to see how soon something like this would benefit him.

I have been using Artistic Pursuits for 2 years.. teaching grades 3-6. I teach at a Classical Consortium once a week for homeschool families. Artistic Pursuits is the only curriculum I’ve found that focuses on the elements of art. Without a clear understanding of the elements it’s difficult, if not impossible, for students to create great work on their own. It’s like trying to teach reading without teaching phonics. The elements of art are the building blocks. I highly recommend Artistic Pursuits.

My sons love everything art, but most of the art books I’ve gotten in the past only show basic crafts. Artistic Pursuits gives so much more, with the background of the paintings. Their “projects” are much more open-ended so the creativity really flows when we do them. Thank you for offering this give-away!

Out of my 10 children, at least 3 of my girls seem to be particularly artistically talented. I just did my first art lesson with my 9- and 10- year-olds last night. We used the Lamb’s Book of Art. I’ve had the book for a year, but just got it out last night. It was an interesting lesson, and their interest in color theory was piqued. I can see how having a curriculum helps. Just letting them draw and paint has been nice, but they can learn more from someone who really knows about art.

We use Artistic Pursuits too and we love it! I’m planning on getting teh K-3 Book 2 to use next year. It’s a great program. I taught a small homeschool group with it and am currently teaching just my own children. It’s very adaptable and appeals to a wide variety of ages.
