Cameras and Bloody Lips: Not Me Monday

Mark and I have been married for 14 years, so he recently did not ask me if I spelled my name with an -ey or just -y.  The children and I were not able to convince him that our almost five year old was  getting ready to turn four and I’m not wondering if he’s experiencing early onset dementia.

I certainly did not say,  “You may not give your brother a bloody lip even if he says he wants one” and there was no need to say that while applying ice to a bloody lip.  Nope, not me!!!

Things I did not hear this week:

  • I’m going to stop picking my nose because it hurts. ~ Colby, 3
  • Can you please take me to the store to get my teeth out. ~ Colby, 3

I did not neglect to post an update on the 90 Day Challenge because we still have sickness in the house (high fevers, vomiting, headaches and cold symptoms).  And I certainly wouldn’t stick and update in the middle of a “not me” post!  *We are all still reading, the healthy ones are caught up and everyone is very happy to be in the New Testament.*

The two youngest boys, 3 and 1, do not play with the camera.

They know that they aren’t supposed to touch mommy’s camera

so they leave it aloneand we never upload our pictures to the computer only to discover a bunch of pictures that no one recalls taking.

Wonder about our  homeschool goals?  Why we choose to teach Greek?  Why we have 10 kids? How we keep up with laundry?  Or just want to read more about the funny things our kids do?  We gotcha covered!

Cute! You will be glad you have that picture of those cute little feet one day. I have to remember things for my hubs, too.

HA! I needed this laugh (as I sit here procrastinating studying for a lab final I have in 3 hours!) We had an emergency room visit last night for a split open eyebrow and when my husband and Micah get home, Micah proudly states “That was fun Dad!!” Must have been the weekend for bumps and bruises.

So funny! Just last night my husband asked me how old our oldest daughter was! Didn’t think a multiple choice answer was appropriate, so I sweetly answered him!

Hee, hee! “You may not give your brother a bloody lip even if he says he wants one” So very boyish! Hope you’re all feeling better.

You’re only laughing because they aren’t your kids.

That also wasn’t the WHOLE story. Bloody lip kid kept picking at the cut on his lip. A few days later it looks like it’s infected. I take bloody lip kid to the doctor and have to answer the question, “How did he get the injured lip in the first place?” about 20 times. (OK, that’s an exaggeration, but I had to answer it a lot.)

(Staph infection had set in – he’s finishing his round of antibiotics and looks MUCH better now.

Oh, man! I didn’t realize it was that bad. Yikes! Staph is scary. And how awful that you had to explain it so many times to a doctor!

My boys love taking pictures, too! I keep thinking we need to get them a ‘kid’ camera to take their own pictures with. Who knows what all they’d come up with!

I hope everyone is feeling better soon!
