We did not have to fish a wadded up napkin out of the milk jug because one of the children was tossing it around at the table.
When the little girls asked if Nicholas could be in the bathroom while they were playing in the bathtub I told them as long as he didn’t get into the tub with them that would be fine. I was not surprised to see this when I went in to check on him.
I am a fairly experienced parent. I know that children and water are attracted to each other.
So I was not caught off guard by the soaking, sopping mess the three of them had created in the bathroom.
When I asked Nick what he was doing, he did not pat himself on the head and remind me that he was ‘handsome’.
Mark and I never have water fights at the table. In warmer weather when we eat outside they do not escalate to full pitchers of water since there is no hard wood and carpet under the table to worry about. Someone has to set a good example for these kids, otherwise they might not know how to behave at the table.
