When the 1 year old Nicholas wet his pants just before nap time I simply put a new diaper on him and laid him down to rest. When he woke up from his nap and headed out side (still pant-less) to play with the big kids, I did not pretend that I didn’t notice and just allow him to play outside in just a diaper and t-shirt.
One of the children did not inadvertently hit the button on the answering machine that allows you to record a new message. So for who-knows-how-long callers did not hear a cacophony of children taking and laughing above the noise of a one of our preschool farm song CDs. No wonder the amount of messages left dropped recently.
Since I’m pregnant and trying to eat an extra healthy diet, Mark did not bring me the carton of Brownie Mud Pie Overload ice cream and a spoon. If he had I would not have eaten what remained in the carton. No, not me.
We were going to be spending the whole day Friday (7 am-10:30pm) back “home” (an hour and a half away from Knoxville where we currently live) for a Bible conference and visits with friends and family. I had Amber carefully pack a diaper bag with diapers, wipes and extra outfits for the younger children. I absolutely did not leave the diaper bag at home. There is no way I would do that after this experience at DollyWood or this one with the occupied bathroom.
If I had forgotten the diaper bag Friday I would not have also neglected to make sure the car was stocked with our regular “emergency” supply of diapers and clothes especially since I blogged about being prepared when you’re on the go and I would not have needed to ask my friend to supply me with diapers for the remainder of the day.
If I had needed to ask my friend for diapers and wipes because I had traveled one and a half hours away from home for the whole day with out a single extra diaper, she would not have told me that I needed to “not me” this.
Nicholas (1) does not enjoy wearing the girls headbands, bows and ribbons in his hair.
I do not think that he is absolutely adorable when he does it and certainly wouldn’t encourage him by taking his picture.
Whenever Nicholas hears the word “handsome” he does not smile and pat the top of his head.
Here are some posts from my first month of blogging. Not Me Monday: The Sick Edition, how God used cancer to convince my parents to homeschool , how the girls and I have regular tea parties, how and why we encourage our children to read the Bible every day, and the big progress that Nick made with his Erb’s Palsy.

A great Not Me Monday, Kimberly! I thought of you this morning when I got up to a kitchen full of china and crystal that we had used yesterday for our Easter lunch. It would have made a great Not Me photo!

I was stuck all day Easter Sunday with no wipes, too, and the church nursery was out, and none of my family currently have any babies who need wipes, so while we were gone ALL day to various outings, I used wet paper towels on my little guy’s bottom. Of course, he didn’t have to poop THAT much, did he?
We have the same headband Nicholas does, and I feel pretty sure we have a photo of OUR Nicholas wearing it!

For some reason those types of hair things are his favorite.

Thanks for the ice cream tip. I’m going to pass that info on to my hubby. Maybe he’ll believe me.

It’s always fun to stop by here!
You could probably have a ‘Not Me’ Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, too

You’re probably right, but I’m not sure that is a compliment??

Pregnancy brain is what your condition is called. Mine has worsened over the years. My husband looks at me with a look that seems to ask, who are you and where is my wife. Forgetting something as important as a diaper bag is definitely one of the symptoms.

I’ve always considered myself scatterbrained (none of my friends ever forgets their diaper bags) but now I feel normal! Thanks. : )

lol @ the diapers. I did NOT ever forget/neglect to pack diapers in the carryon, or the diaper bag so that for the entire 3 hour plane trip we had only the one spare my dh thoughtfully stuffed in his pocket on his way out the door. Nope, never happened.
(But yes, it is possible to buy a spare diaper at the airport, size not guaranteed).

I was “not” kidding when I told you that you must admit to leaving the diaper bag at home in order to get the diapers.
Andrew did “not” put on his sister’s hot pink sandals and walk around the house. His daddy did “not” tell him he had to take them off before he could play outside. Enjoyed the fellowship on Saturday. Just wish it was a more common occurrence.

Thank you for your hospitality. I came home only to find the hostess gift that I was supposed to bring to you, sitting on our desk. Should I include that in next week’s edition?

Ha, ha! Love this “Not me, Monday!” Thank you, Lord, for such a wonderful, understanding (blackmailing) friend for Kimberly.
Great to see you and your family. We miss you!

I had a similar experience last weekend myself…must have been something in the air.
Our family went to SOuth Carolina for the weekend. I packed the diaper bag and added a bottle to feed the baby on the drive.
I did NOT run out of time to feed her before we left.
My dear son Galen did not pick it up and ask me if he could help me by bringing it to the van. If he had, I would NOT have said yes and then proceed to remind him to pick up his room before we left. He would NOT have went to his room carrying the diaper bag and he would NOT have left it in his room when his dad called him to the van.
The diaper bag would NOT have been left in his room all weekend and the bottle would NOT have been nasty when we got home.
Oh, I would not have packed a skirt that I had just gotten out for spring without washing or looking at it.:) I would NOT have had to wear a skirt with a hole in it to church on Easter.

Love you and your blog!
Kim
