…take my sweet baby from looking like this
to looking like this…
After his hair cut, I certainly did not fail to recognize him and think that someone had let one of the neighbor children into our home.
I did not shed any tears at how different his hair cut made him look. No, not me!
Did you see my BIGGEST hair cutting mistake ever?
Did you want to laugh at with us some more? I have a whole humor category with funny photos, stories and kid moments.
In more serious news, homeschooling information should be easier to find on Raising Olives thanks to the new homeschool page. Please let me what you think. Can you find what you’re looking for? Have suggestions?

Older and different. He was born with thick, long, dark hair, so this is a huge change. It’s the shortest his hair has ever been.

I haven’t done that either!

I have trimmed the baby’s bangs once (he is 18 months now and reminds me of Nick—check out some recent pics on my blog). Anyway, I dread having to cut the back. He has the most luscious curls, especially after getting out of the bath or on days that the humidity is higher. He is starting to look and act like my 22 yod did at that age, but I’m not sure if it might just be the long hair!! Dh returned home from the Cinci conference yesterday and requested a haircut this week. I have done it for years, but it is a job I dread. I may show him the picture of what you did to Mark!! Have a good day!

Yes, Nicholas had curls. But he was born with such long hair that we had to cut the curls (because of ALL the girl comments) when he was about 6 months old.
We seriously considered driving up to the Cinci conference on Friday. Maybe next year.

I like his new cut! It does really make them look grown-up, though, doesn’t it?

I LOVE the haircut. Simply adorable! If we ever have a boy…

Sad thing this isn’t his first cut. He’s had more than I can count. It’s just the first time I let the big boys talk me into a buzz.

He looks amazing
And you can’t help but notice (from the photos anyway) Happier! My dh’s mom kept him in long curls as a lad, he loathed being mistaken for a girl.

How funny. He looks all grown up though! Ugh. I love the new blog look! Very nice!

No, I have NEVER done that either. Nope, not me! Didn’t you read, I am up for the mom of the year award! LOL!

I cried for you at the difference! That is what happened when we cut my sons hair too! It was like this new child appeared. All grown up. Boy you can sure see those cute little cheeks now!

@Jennifer, Thank you for your sympathy tears. Yes, he seems all grown up. I keep reminding him that he’s still my baby, but then our 3 year old pipes up and says, “Mommy, your baby is in your tummy” in the ‘my mom is so silly’ tone of voice.

Baby no more! He’s adorable

Oh my! He looks SO much older with the short hair! So handsome!

Wow, what a change!~ And that is hilarious that you didn’t recognize him! That sometimes happens with me and my only blond!

Look at those sweet cheeks…
He is adorable Kimberly and you did a great job. I don’t dare cut my children’s hair, even with clippers. I have a friend who comes to the house and I watch while she cuts. The kids love it and Mommy doesn’t have to hear “ouch, I think you just cut off my ear” or (the first haircut I ever gave was in the summer) and my Mr. E screamed “You’re killing me!”… of course the windows were open.
You are a brave woman.

Thank you Dawna, you’re very kind.
My ability to cut hair is another thing for which I must thank my mom. She taught me before I was married.
