Colby’s USS Constitution: Wordless

This according to Colby (3) is a drawing of the USS Constitution.

Not certain he’s going to be an artist, but pretty impressed that he remembers our visit to Boston last fall.

Looks like you have a talented little artist. Cute photo! I bet he is proud of his creation. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I think it is so fascinating how little kids all seem to learn to draw in the same progression! Mine all did drawings exactly like that, just after they went thru the stage where they covered the entire paper in little circles of varying sizes. Next they move on to people with no bodies, but with hands with very long fingers and feet with very long toes, all attached directly to their heads. I saved a picture just like Colby’s that my son Andrew made for me at 2 1/2. He said “this is me” and he drew the circle, and then he said “and these are my feet” and he drew the two lines. My husband said, “Wow, he thinks he’s an amoeba!”

    It is fascinating.

My favorite is when they draw a big circle with eyes, mouth, legs and arms. I have a few of those from each child filed away.
