Win a quick, fun and motivating math drill program, perfect for kids during the summer months or anytime of the year.
Quarter Mile Math gave our kids the boost that they needed to really master their math facts. It allows your children to drill their math facts by competing in stimulating races on the computer. An ideal option for summer so that your children don’t lose proficiency on the math skills that they learned during the school year. Our kids thoroughly enjoy racing and competing with Quarter Mile Math.
There are two aspects of Quarter Mile Math that recommend it to me over other math drill options.
- Quarter Mile Math offers over 300 topics. From keyboarding skills and basic addition to fractions, equations and squares, you will find a topic or several that will challenge each of your children.
- The the children compete against themselves, not some arbitrary computer math whiz. This allows the children, no matter what their level to compete without discouragement and to easily see their progress as they are able to improve on their own times.

We will be practicing word problems with my eight year old, and just starting addition with my 5 year old, and counting with my 3 year old.

We will be starting our FIRST year of Homeschooling this Summer! ☺ We are super excited!
The cirriculum that we will be starting with is Alpha Omega LifePac for grade 3. I am starting with this as way to have a jumping off point for the next year when I can get more information on other ways to educate.
BTW… I already “Like” Raising Olives on FB! ☺

Since we school year-round, we will be working on getting my 6 and 8 year olds going with Teaching Textbooks Math 3, and working on extensive multiplication tables drill with another 3 children. Another 2 children are working through TT Pre-Algebra.

I already like you on Facebook.

Our only summer math plans are to keep up with addition and subtraction facts using Wrap-ups. My kids would love this, though as doing anything on the computer is a big treat.

I don’t have plans for summertime math. Though it sounds like a great idea! I fear that I should have plans.
I am planning on hs’ing my 2nd and 4th grader next year and I am really excited about that!

We were going to work on multiplication and division. Plus, go to the beach, travel cross country, visit a few colonial villages, take some hikes, visit with family, take swim lessons, and build lego robotics. I love summer!
[Reply]
You’re supposed to have summertime math plans?
[Reply]
our math plans for the summer include, every day math, using concepts in real world settings, ie the grocery store, the amusement park and the like.

Summertime math: did not have a detailed plan, but my 2nd grader could really use the review. This program would be an amazing blessing.

I just “liked” you on facebook!

We are planning to do some preparation on multiplication and fraction, because that is 2nd grade’s required main math topic. (My eldest son is in the 1st grade now.)
With my preschoolers: we plan to do some basic counting.
[Reply]
We have a cd from Math u See we play in the van for the littles. It seeps in without them actually knowing it. Flashcards are always in use even in the summer.
[Reply]
We’ll be cooking lots this summer for practice with fractions!
[Reply]
the plans are for math during the summertime. I don’t like to start a new school year and the children have forgotten a lot of facts, so once or twice a week we school during the summer.
[Reply]
We will probably continue doing math on the computer (Teaching Textbooks) and drilling with Timez Attack.

We will continue with Math-u-See, lots of hands on learning and Calculadders. We would love to win this program. It would be a blessing to our family. Thanks!

Our summertime plans for math are to continue on with our year. We’re lagging behind a little due to having a new baby and my still working, so we’ll just keep on keepin’ on.
[Reply]
We plan on continuing right along in our book. We also plan on reinforcing everything with practical ideas in our home…baking, creating, etc.

Both of my boys really need to work on multiplication facts. I was going to have them pair up to quiz each with flashcards over the summer, but I think this would be more fun!
[Reply]
Math continues all summer around here. We use Saxon for the most part, and will just do half lessons about 4 days/week through the summer. Doing some remedial work with one child – discovered a learning disability this year and are excited to have found ways of working with this child that actually facilitate learning! Quarter Mile would be super – I have a couple of children who are not as solid on math facts as they should be, and who would happily drill themselves daily with a tool like Quarter Mile.
Does ‘following’ on Facebook mean the same thing as ‘liking’? Your comments show up on my wall – does that mean I ‘like’ you? I hope it does, ’cause I DO like you!

We are going to work with the younger ones on getting all of the math facts down pat…My older daughter is finishing up Saxon Algebra 2 and is looking forward to Life of Fred advanced Algebra for the summer months!

We use Alpha-Omega’s SOS, so I just scheduled the last unit for during the summer. We also try to incorporate math into everything, that way my kids can never say, within any amount of reason, that they won’t use it later so why do they need to learn it now? Math and reading are the two things that are pretty much used every day in real life! We’d love to have some math games like this and I have really hesitated to spend the money on FactsFirst, although my kids will play the demo over and over and over.

We’re playing catch-up after having the last 2 babies, so except for possible camping trips, we’ll be plugging away at math along with the rest of our subjects all summer. We’re loving Math-U-See, but could use help with drills.

I love your blog! I’ve been following you for a few months now and it’s been a great encouragement. My son if 4 so not a lot of summer math plans, but we will be working on money concepts this summer while we are out garage saling. This looks like a great product to help as he starts learning his math facts.

My kids love learning things with the computer, seems to make it much easier! This sounds like math cleverly designed as a game…they would definitely have a good time with it without realizing they are learning.
Our summer plans with school were to go through review sheets sent home by the teachers.

Hmmm…summertime math…I think we’ll try to actually finish our school year math
… We’d love the program!
