Well, we’re done with some of school for the summer (the group work), finishing up math and spelling/language arts still (the individual work) AND having a new baby (#4) AND moving… I’m hoping to finish the math for the year, and also somehow do some extra practice.. but I don’t have a good plan for that! This program looks great! I’m new to reading your blog and love it!

Math is somthing that we work on a daily basis. We work it into our everyday life! This summer it will be working more with money and making change. thanks

We plan on doing our math work through the summer. We take breaks during the year so we don’t take the whole summer off. It is too hot here to do much outside anyway.

Our formal program is done for the summer, but we often quiz in the car when we are driving and just everyday math opportunities.

I plan to have my older three do lots of cooking and canning with me. We are entering the land of fractions so I think the cooking will be a great practical application.

We are wrapping up Rod and Staff math this summer and then moving on to Math U See. My eight year old is ecstatic to try the new program as Rod and Staff tends to be a bit repetitive for him. We find it works better to school throughout the summer so our minds stay sharp, Mr. E loves learning and was bummed last year when we took three weeks off in a row for summer. So… this year we are schooling throughout the entire year, much to everyone’s sheer delight!

We’re finishing up our regular Abeka math this Wednesday. I was hoping to order a workbook from Rod and Staff for each child to work through – a page a day for the summer. In my house it’s use it or lose it with math facts so we have to keep plugging away. I have been eyeing Quarter Mile math for a while now – I hope I WIN!!!

I would LOVE to win the Quarter Mile Math. I was planning to look for some online math fact drills and games for the kids to do over the summer. This would be perfect! I’m going to check it out even if I don’t win. Thanks for the tip.
