Bebe au Lait Giveaway and Review

This giveaway is now closed.  Congratulations to Bethany who said, “I love the mint chocolate towel; it would be a gift for my sister who is expecting a baby soon!  I have a nursing cover, and do love it!” for winning the Bebe au Lait hooded towel.

A few months before Isabella was born I asked some of my friends about their favorite, can’t live without baby/mommy products.  Bebe au Lait was one of the top recommendations.

Bebe au Lait is probably best know for their classy nursing covers (now that I’ve seen the quality of their other things I would love to have one of these), but they also offer high quality burp cloths, hooded towels, bibs and more.

Bebe au Lait sent me a pack of burp cloths and a hooded towel.  Can you say luxury?  I’ve burped and bathed nine babies before Isabella and have used a lot of burp cloths and baby towels but I’ve never had any of this quality before.  These are not only beautiful (I always make sure that I have these burp cloths when I go out) they are also delightful to use and make me feel quite spoiled

Both are made of thick 100% cotton terry cloth and are embellished with Bebe au Lait’s signature 100% cotton fabrics. I love the lovely, classy fabric selection.  The burp cloths and hood of the towel are made of a double layer of terry cloth for super absorbency where it’s really needed.

The burp cloths are a smaller than what I’ve typically used (16′” x 6″ after several washes) and when I first saw them I wondered if they would be adequate to catch all that a big spitter has to offer, but we’ve had no problems.  I think the key is that these burp cloths are more absorbent and so rather than the spit-up rolling down the cloth and onto the floor (isn’t that what happens with the burp cloths you use?), the Bebe au Lait cloths absorb it.

The towel is sized generously enough to accommodate toddlers.  It’s large enough for our tall 3 (nearly 4) year old to use comfortably. The quality materials, lovely trim and nice ‘extras’, like an inside loop for hanging,  make me love this towel.

If you’ve read Raising Olives for long you know that I’m going to be honest with you and here it is.  While I absolutely adore the burp cloths and the towel and was surprised at the quality and attention to detail, I am too cheap frugal and would not have paid the Bebe au Lait prices to purchase them for myself.

However, now that I’ve had the opportunity to use and enjoy these products and seen the quality first hand, I am purchasing them to use as baby gifts.  The fabrics are classy and beautiful and most will work for either a boy or a girl.   Bebe au Lait products offer just the right amount of ‘spoilage’ for a new mom and baby.  The burp cloths are probably my favorites, I know that I would love to have another set!

While we’re talking about honesty.  The above picture of sweet Bella apparently fresh from the bath and wrapped in the luxurious Bebe au Lait towel?  Completely staged.  Since Bella enjoys baths just as much as she enjoys daddy time, visitors or anything other than nursing and I didn’t think you wanted to look at this faceI nursed Isabella, stripped the sleeper off of her shoulders and quickly staged the happy not crying pictures (yes all of them) before she had time to realize that she wasn’t eating.  Complete honesty?  You’ll get it here.

Buy it:

Have a new baby arriving?  A baby shower that you need a gift for?   Want something special for a new baby and mom?  Take a look at Bebe au Lait.  They have this lovely gift set with a nursing cover and set of three burp cloths for $50, hooded towels for $40 and burp cloths 3 for $20.

Win it:

You know that I’m not going to leave you without an opportunity to win some Bebe au Lait.  One Raising Olives reader will win a hooded towel with your choice of trim fabric from Bebe au Lait.

Good morning! I am due early Aug with our 6th baby and I would pick the Sevilla pattern. I have never used a nursing cover before, I have nursed all our babies and covered up with my ring sling’s extra fabric. Thanks!

Ooo la la! I can’t believe all the beautiful fabrics! I love them all! I will be having a baby boy in October so I would choose either Chocolat or Marmont. I’d feel so lavish burping my baby with these fabrics! How fun! But, like you, I would probably not spend my own money on these. 🙁 Very gorgeous!

I have used a nursing cover some in the past but not too often, maybe with one of these lovely covers I would more! 🙂 Baby #5 may bring out the best in me!

I liked the papillon pattern. I actually didn’t think the prices were that bad. OK. Maybe $40 for a towel is high, but the nursing covers at $38 didn’t seem too bad to me. And the $50 gift set with cover and burp cloths seemed reasonable.

I’ve used various covers over the years, but none with the ridged neckline. Nice too see and be seen by baby and such pretty designs too choose from. I’d love some good burp clothes as the ones I have just aren’t catching it and my baby (1 months old now) tends to have one really big one as well as several smaller ones every day. I’d choose “capri” design.

I would choose the Parquet burp clothes for my daughter who is expecting HER first daughter in Oct. As for nursing covers and especially the one pictured…to me its just a big ole sign advertising the fact that there is a baby nursing under there!! I’ve always used a small blanket or just my shirt. I want to be discreet, but part of being discreet is the fact that nobody knows what I’m doing!

Hard to pick a fabric… I think I’d go with hot dots; it’s so cute and fun! The hooded towels look so cuddly. My super active 9 month old wants to climb up on my shoulder and be held just as soon as she’s out of the tub; I can hardly get a towel around her before she’s trying to climb up. A nice fluffy towel would be scrumptious!

I’ve never used one of those nursing covers (I’ve nursed all 5 babies). We just find a quiet spot that’s as private as possible and lightly drape a blanket or cloth diaper over my shoulder if possible. All of my babies have tried to pull off whatever blanket I’ve used for that purpose, though.

I would choose Papillion or Yoko. I was excited to see the 4 way bibs. I like bibs a lot. I am not crazy about nursing covers in general, however the Bebe au Lait ones are pretty. I have used covers in the past, but the more I nurse the less I use them. There are times when I need one, but often I think they say “I am ashamed of what I am sitting here doing.” I am plenty modest (no bikinis for me gals! I don’t even wear sleeveless shirts.), but I sometimes think covers draw more attn to a nursing mom than less. Esp. when they are so bold and pretty! When I was inducing lactation for my most recent adopted child I had to use bulky equipment while nursing so I used a cover more then.

I own one of these nursing covers in a chocolate/cream print already, and it is definitely a must-have. It allows me to nurse modestly in public, as we are on the go often with 6 children. After two baby boys, we’re having a baby girl (#7) in October. I would choose the “Parfait” print, a very feminine color, since it’s been several years since we’ve had a baby girl. Our other two daughters and I can’t wait to see pink again!

I cannot say enough praise for my Bebe au Lait nursing cover. It is awesome! I used a blanket while nursing my boys and they would almost always whip it off of me in public, revealing parts I did not want revealed. The Bebe au lait nursing cover has a strap that goes around your neck so there is no streaking not to mention it is stylish, has a curved edge to allow air in and a way to peek at baby, plus terry cloth pockets which come in handy to hold binkies and nursing pads. It is definitely one of my top mommy must haves.

If i were to order more items I would go with the papillon fabric… sooo pretty.

For the towel, I’d go with HotDots. I have a nursing cover that I bought used for $5, and it isn’t as big or as nice as Bebe’s, but it helped to get started.

It would be hard to choose. I think either the Marmont or the Shrine Aqua (or maybe the Mint Chocolate). I have a nursing cover that’s similar to the one’s they sell, but was made by a friend. I like it, mainly because it’s lightweight so it’s not as hot as a blanket, and also because it goes around your neck so that baby can’t pull it down.

I have the nursing cover in the peacock feather fabric that’s on yous towel and burp rag. At first I was skeptical — blankets had worked just fine for my first two, thankyouverymuch. While I still wouldn’t call the nursing cover a necessity, I do prefer it to blankets. I like the fact that the neck strap keeps it from being yanked off by chubby little hands, and I like how it’s designed to allow you to see your baby while she’s nursing.

I would love to try the nursing cover in the parkside fabric. I’ve never used a nursing cover before- always just secluded myself at home or in the nursery at church. Now that we have my husband’s adult disabled nephew living with us I will need privacy at home. I guess it’s time to learn to use a nursing cover!

Mint chocolate would be my pick. With babe #4, I actually bought a nursing cover (different company) for our cross country move. I don’t use it often, but when I’m in public situations with a restless babe it helps keep me covered.

I love the Marmont fabric. I have a hand-me-down nursing cover-up but it isn’t near the quality as these. I also found that the thin and soft fabric was hard to keep from collapsing around my baby’s head making it hard for me to see her through the hoop. I’m hoping for a better quality nursing cover for my next baby due in September.

I love the papillon print. It is so bold and vibrant and very different. It would deffinately attract attention in a classy way. I do have 2 nursing cover ups and I love them. They are not from this company and the only thing I didnt like about mine is that my daughter likes to pull at it and this sometimes exposes me. It would be interesting to see if their’s has better coverage.

I love the chocolat print! I love most of the prints! I do have a nursing cover, it is a simple one that I found on sale on Etsy. It has been a lifesaver with baby #4 because toddler #3 likes to play “peek a boo” when Mommy is nursing. When I had my first and second children, I would be so nervous nursing in public with just a blanket over me. Now I wear nursing tops. I alternate between 2 but they are so worth it.

For myself, I’d probably choose the simple organic ‘steel’ cover. While I admire and enjoy looking at the other fabric designs, they just aren’t my style/colors. But for my sister expecting her first, or someone else, I’d definitely be looking at the patterns!

I do have one that was given to me with my first. It’s a sort of pale aqua with brown print. I loved it. Using it, not so much the color/print. Even though my little girl is weaned, I still have it in my diaper bag. (I need to wash it before the next one decides to make an appearance.) Just as well! One day I came back to the church nursery to pick the little girl up, and found that one of the other mothers had loaned it to a visiting mom who didn’t have one! 😉
