Train Table & Train Set Giveaway and Review

Colby (4) loves all thing train and we have considered purchasing a train table for years.  We’ve imagined the joy of allowing the boys to keep up their elaborate track day after day after day without the rest of the family tripping over it or of not having a train track ranging across the school room all.  the.   time.  Thanks to Constructive Playthings, we’re feeling the  joy!

Constructive Playthings sent our family their wooden train set and train table (and they’re giving away another to one Raising Olives readers).  Both have been tremendous hits.

When it was time to set up the train table I sent Matthew (11) for the screw driver and before he found it, Mark and Carter (8) had the table completely set up.  No screw driver (or any other tools) needed.  The legs simply slide into place and lock together and then the table top is set on top.  The top is reversible one side green, the other white.

The table is easy to clean and an ideal height for preschoolers to stand and play. It also easily allows several children to play together at the same time, obviously an important feature in our home.

There is plenty of space under the table for a box to store all those extra pieces.  Although the table does not come with a storage box, there is one available at Constructive Playthings.

The train set is all wood and has straight and curved track pieces, bridges, depots, houses, people, animals, signs and of course trains.   There are well over a hundred pieces and our children have spent hours building various tracks, courses and routes for their trains to explore.

This train set is completely compatible with our Brio and other wooden train sets.

Buy It

If a train set is on your Christmas list, you may purchase the train table from Constructive Playthings for $134.99 and shipping is free, the train set (shown above) is available for $64.99.

You will receive a 15% discount on your complete order from Constructive Playthings anytime you visit their site through the button in my sidebar.

Thank you for sharing this review Kimberly! I went to the Constructive Playthings site and the one thing that stood out above all else for our family was the telescope. We also try to have more family toys than individual…and with things being extremely tight this year, the telescope is something all of our children could enjoy and we could afford.

The train table would be an absolute blessing too! 🙂

We have six children (7 years down to 17 months), and #7 is due in January. Our two youngest (3 years and 17 months) are train-loving boys. We have MANY Thomas the Tank Engine trains, and tracks. If you want to thrill our 3 year old show him a train or train tracks. He would love the Thomas the Train talking table set, or ANY of the train sets. Thanks for the chance to win!!!

I feel like the brat at the candy shop. I want the stomp and launch, fire and rescue set, fairytale castle, firehouse playstation, about town community workers, power garden tools, and the classic castle….and then I started to feel greedy, so I stopped looking. And my daughter isn’t even old enough to really play with any of these yet!!! Kimberly, you tell constructive playthings that they will most certainly be receiving business from me, and strictly because YOU made me go look thoroughly at their website. My husband and my budget thank you 😉

They havve so many wonderful toy choices – but I think I would pick the Take Along Train Depot – as ther are lots of times that we have to take our younger kids to thier older siblings events, and it is nice to haver something portable for them to play with there- here is al ink to it http://www.cptoy.com/cgi-bin/pf.sh/2.0/product.htm?parent_id=Cars%20Trucks%20and%20Trains&dept_id=Trains&pf_id=CPX-152L

At wwww.cptoy.com, I saw the Rainbow Ramp Racers which one would think would be not played with after about 10 min, but my Peter would play with it often I suspect. He has played with it at toy stores and he is very taken with it. I like the Honeycomb game to b/c it encourages motor control and planning.

I just took some more time to look at CP’s store and found a few more things to consider for our kids – The Rainbow Ramp Racers would be great for our almost 2 year old boy, our 5 yo would love the monkeys jumping on the bed props and cd, The puzzle case for wooden puzzles would make the dad of the house happy 🙂 – I’ve been looking for one of these without the puzzles included as we have several puzzles that need a home. The doll tea set would be perfect for the 18″ dolls some of our girls got for their birthdays this year.
