Large Family Logistics Giveaway

Congratulations to Amy @ A Call to Adventure and Melissa @ These are the Moments for winning the copies of Large Family Logistics.

Yes, you read that right. Raising Olives is giving away not one, but TWO copies of Large Family Logistics. Earlier this week I gushed (and a lot of you gushed) about how much this book has helped our homeMoving chore time to the afternoon is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many great ideas and practical tips. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share this resource with you.

Large Family Logistics isn’t just for large families. It would be helpful for any mother who is running a home.  (I think it would make a wonderful wedding or baby shower gift). Kim has chocked this book full of practical tips from meal planning and quiet time to stain removal and ideas for successful breastfeeding and chore training.

But LFL isn’t just a practical, how-to book for managing a home. It also hits the heart of the matter.

Motherhood is a life of sacrifice; it is a life poured out for our children. So what are we to do to get some space from it all? When we are honest with ourselves, we know that it is not “Me Time” we need or a “Girls’ Night Out”. Children are not a burden to escape or endure; they are a blessing that drives us to Christ because we are incapable of parenting well without Him. God is who we need. While there are helpful strategies we can employ in order to have a more peaceful day with our children, the number one thing we must do is to deny Self and cling to the cross. ~Kim Brenneman, Large Family Logistics

Only one area that needs the most work? I need routines in every area and feel so out of control sometimes. But I would say a cleaning schedule or system.

I ordered mine from Amazon after reading your last post. I got it the next day! I have been so busy with B90days and planning for 60 meals that I have not yet sat down with it, but it is a large book, well worth the price!

One area that needs the most help is using our time wisely. We think of big projects to do, but have a hard time getting started on them. Or if we do get started we think we need to finish it all in one day instead of portioning out the project. We also tend to waste time that could be spent doing other more important things.

The one area I would like more help is chore time. Yeesh! I think I’ve tried about a billion ways to encourage a daily clean-up time/routine for the children and myself. Okay, maybe I’ve only tried a half a billion ways. Either way, all attempts have been futile.

    Awesome giveaway!! *fingers crossed*

I am so excited about this book! I think that if I start implementing a lot of the systems now, while the fam is still small, it’ll be an easier learning curve as our two small children go to a few small children and more! It’s already on my birthday list, but if I got for free that’d be absolutely wonderful!

Physical areas of the house? Well, my kitchen always seems to be a disaster!
Other areas? I really struggle with balance. I want/need to get in some exercise, not only for my personal health but my mental health. I have a hard time finding a place for me and the things I like- exercise, reading, sewing. So, more of a balance, I guess. My mantra has been “maybe now is not my season for ____” but I would like to see if I can take better care of myself!

I’m not the owner of a home. I’m just the oldest daughter looking for new ideas. I hope this doesn’t disqualify me, but I’m going to say my room needs the most help for obvious respect and slander issues! ;) And because my room does need lots of help.

    Thanks, Heather
