Large Family Logistics Giveaway

Congratulations to Amy @ A Call to Adventure and Melissa @ These are the Moments for winning the copies of Large Family Logistics.

Yes, you read that right. Raising Olives is giving away not one, but TWO copies of Large Family Logistics. Earlier this week I gushed (and a lot of you gushed) about how much this book has helped our homeMoving chore time to the afternoon is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many great ideas and practical tips. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share this resource with you.

Large Family Logistics isn’t just for large families. It would be helpful for any mother who is running a home.  (I think it would make a wonderful wedding or baby shower gift). Kim has chocked this book full of practical tips from meal planning and quiet time to stain removal and ideas for successful breastfeeding and chore training.

But LFL isn’t just a practical, how-to book for managing a home. It also hits the heart of the matter.

Motherhood is a life of sacrifice; it is a life poured out for our children. So what are we to do to get some space from it all? When we are honest with ourselves, we know that it is not “Me Time” we need or a “Girls’ Night Out”. Children are not a burden to escape or endure; they are a blessing that drives us to Christ because we are incapable of parenting well without Him. God is who we need. While there are helpful strategies we can employ in order to have a more peaceful day with our children, the number one thing we must do is to deny Self and cling to the cross. ~Kim Brenneman, Large Family Logistics

I think the worst thing for me is the toy clutter- our house is small and we have 5 small children and that makes for a ton of toys everywhere!!!

I love having a big family we have 6 kids and my mother living with us. I love that my mom is here heck she raised me for 18 years and then helped me out with my kids as needed and now I am returning the favor. My kids have a better grip on reality than most since they live in a large group we have seen most problems and they learn from one anothers errors and they learn how to work as a team which will help them do better at any job that team work is required and they can all balance a budget and have pride in what they do have and not the latest gadget on the market. They know the value of family time, the Lords time, laws and gifts and how the “NORMAL” family is sooo disfunctional and we all enjoy the positiveness that it shows to others in the world and now with my husband being home for a year after his second heart transplant the day after
Christmas the kids are showing us all that we have taught them over the years and how much they truly do work and come togeather a a fine oiled machine when needed. The Lord has blessed us with 6 wonderful kids and if he sees fit to gift us with more we are up for the challenge. God Bless all large families that follow the Lords work and words!

At the moment– my kitchen and my attitude. I only have two little ones (with another on the way) but have been fighting a lot of feelings of discouragement at the lack of things I can accomplish in a day. Maybe if things were structured differently in my home it would be better?

At this point, we have six wonderful blessings here and two in heaven. I have learned many things over the years, but I still struggle with some issues. Trying to organize within our limited space is one of the biggest.

I was told by a friend that I *WANT* this book. =) So, here I am!
Our mornings.. that’s probably the worst thing. I used to say bedtime, but I think we have finally gotten a handle on that. Now I need to learn how to get everyone up and dressed and fed and going and beds made and school started. Next to that would be laundry and dishes, of course. It’s always laundry and dishes!! =p

With 4 kids and another on the way, I think all my rooms need help, but I would say my formal dining room needs the most help as it tends to be the catchall place since we use it the least. Would love to win a copy of this book! Looks like an interesting read.

We have been abundantly blessed with seven precious gifts, so far, ages 1-12. I have heard great things about this book! My area is probably getting the kids “morning chores” done in a timely fashion, getting school started (we home educate) at the right time, and keeping the ever hated/always messy playroom tidy. Of course, there is always laundry… & my room is always the last to be done bc if a baby is asleep, all the laundry ends up in my room. Oh… & keeping my kitchen counters uncluttered w/ coupons, paper, etc. And lastly, a menu plan has been on my mind to do… for years. Sounds like a book I could benefit from greatly.

I desperately feel like i could use this book. With 7 children under 11, and having just moved to a small dairy farm, i feel at times like i am swimming with my head held just above water. The area that could use the most help? Not sure…..every area? Struggling to fit school in around cows and farm emergencies, and yet still keep a clean house, cook nutritious and frugal meals and most of all, be a godly mother and wife, has me continually falling to my knees.

Reading this book would be like a long drink of cool water on a hot dusty afternoon……… :)
