Bible in 90 Days: April – Who’s In?

Last year I was the last one in our family to finish the Bible in 90 Days Challenge. I finished at 11:30pm on day 90. This year I finished on the afternoon of day 87 and I was still the last one in our family to finish.

I did finish before my friend who started a few days after me, has 3 very young children (the oldest  just turned 3) and delivered a baby at home DURING the 90 day challenge, um yeah, I’m not really impressed either.

Honestly, I’m thankful to be surrounded by others who are willing to tackle this challenge with me. It is much easier to keep going when you have others holding you accountable. For that reason, I’m offering online support for anyone who would like to join and read along. Our family will be reading through the Bible in 90 days again beginning on April 1.

We will be using this Bible in 90 days schedule, feel free to print or use it as you see fit. Mark and I will be reading along with our oldest 4 children; Amber (14), Kaitlin (13), Matthew (11) and Alyssa (10).

Please leave a comment on this post if you’d like to join us. For those who want to participate, I will email you once a week to let you know how our family is doing and ask how you are doing. I will not nag and this will not be a Bible study, simply encouragement and support for those who wish to read through the Word of God in 90 days. Our family will also pray for you regularly throughout the 90 days.

So, anyone interested?

I would like to join reading the Bible in 90 days. This will help me teach my children also and learn scripture I do not know.

Better late than never! I’m starting today so I will be behind, I have done this the past few years, and I miss it when I don’t do it. I’m so excited to find the schedule here, it took a lot of searching. So here I go… Lord speak to me!

I would love too! I attempted it last time but didn’t have anyone doing it with me…everyone was too busy. That broke my heart that so many of us are “too busy” for God… Can’t wait!!

Okay, I keep on going back and forth with this commitment but pretty sure all my excuses are coming from the enemy (or selfishness). Think I’ll give it a go. Any suggestions on how you fit this into your day?? Thanks for the encouragement!

We’ve tried several different tactics for fitting it in and they’ve all worked. The most important thing to remember is that you will have to give up something that you normally do in order to fit this in. Deciding what it is you will give up can be useful to help you prioritize.

Last time through I got up a little earlier than usual and finished my reading first thing in the morning. This time with a nursing baby, I’ve found that it works better for me to read several times throughout the day and finish up in the evening.

Mark reads half of the NEXT days reading in the evening and then finishes it up the next morning.

Some of the kids spend an hour reading in the morning and finish up during rest time and others do the whole reading during rest time and into some of their free time.

Sunday is my catch up day. If I fall behind, I know that I will catch up sometime on Sunday.

I do think that knowing what you will give up and having a plan makes it easier to fit it all in.

with a trepidatious heart, I’d like to join … I started in January and did well for nearly a month before a sudden death in the family. It’s been on my heart to start up and again and the accountability would be such a blessing! thank you!

I’m in it to win it! Okay, I’m bearly making the deadline but I’m in! I normally read it over the year (or a 1 1/2 years) and I have wanted to try a 90 day program but I was chicken! But I think think the support of the group will be very encouraging to me so I’m in! I’m going to encourage my daughters to read the New Testament. Thanks!

I am starting today! I have tried many times to read through the Bible. Never have I succeeded. It was one of my goals this year. I am already behind in my “read thru the Bible in one year” schedule! So charging thru in 90 may work better for me. This is something I really want to do and still struggle with accomplishing it. I look forward to this journey with all of you.

I was not able to finish with Amy’s group on 90 days – I’d be well over 100 (120) if I keep reading. I’d like to try again with you if that’s ok.

Hi, thanks to you I started the 90 days challenge, but I found your site few days before March so I started it on March 1st. I am on day 34 and I am excited that I am able to keep up with it. I’ve read it before but it always took me too long. Many thanks and God bless your family, you inspire me as I am due in few weeks with my 4th child. With His help I’ll be done right before the baby comes. I will probably start again with you in July?! Thanks again and God bless you
