Last year I was the last one in our family to finish the Bible in 90 Days Challenge. I finished at 11:30pm on day 90. This year I finished on the afternoon of day 87 and I was still the last one in our family to finish.
I did finish before my friend who started a few days after me, has 3 very young children (the oldest just turned 3) and delivered a baby at home DURING the 90 day challenge, um yeah, I’m not really impressed either.
Honestly, I’m thankful to be surrounded by others who are willing to tackle this challenge with me. It is much easier to keep going when you have others holding you accountable. For that reason, I’m offering online support for anyone who would like to join and read along. Our family will be reading through the Bible in 90 days again beginning on April 1.
We will be using this Bible in 90 days schedule, feel free to print or use it as you see fit. Mark and I will be reading along with our oldest 4 children; Amber (14), Kaitlin (13), Matthew (11) and Alyssa (10).
Please leave a comment on this post if you’d like to join us. For those who want to participate, I will email you once a week to let you know how our family is doing and ask how you are doing. I will not nag and this will not be a Bible study, simply encouragement and support for those who wish to read through the Word of God in 90 days. Our family will also pray for you regularly throughout the 90 days.
So, anyone interested?

Yep! Count us in! The crew will be our children ages 17, 15, 13, 12, 9, and myself. We will probably treat this as a read aloud.
Thanks for the gentle nudge.

I’m in! Just started today – really looking forward to it. Thanks for the encouragement!

I’d like to join in. This is something that God has asked me to do a few times, but I’ve not been obedient. Thank you for your prayers.

I am TOTALLY in! This is an answer to my prayers, thanks for do this! I just read the bible through and since finishing I have felt a lack of direction in the Bible reading area. Can’t wait to start! Thank you!!!!!
[Reply]
I’m in! I really do need to actually read it, sadly enough I haven’t yet

I am joining you in this challenge! I love God’s word, read it daily, and have read all over it many times throughout my life, but I have never read it straight through, from cover to cover! I am very excited about doing this, and in 90 days! Wow! Thank you for encouraging me in this challenge! God bless you, Kimberly!

I’m in! My family is going through a difficult season. I have found it difficult to stay in the Word. This just may be the thing I need to ground me again.

Count me in!

Yes, I’m def in! I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile.

I would love to do this! I would like to know what you think of a 8 yr old joining or if she’s just not there yet what would you recommend for her? I would love to include her in this journey.

It really depends upon her reading ability and motivation. Without interruptions one of the readings will take me anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour+ and I would say I’m an average reader. It routinely takes one of our slower readers nearly 2 hours every day.
Alyssa was 9 when she did it last year and she was one of the first ones finished, but she’s a voracious reader. Our current 9 year old is a beginning reader and will be reading through the Bible in one year.
I hope that helps you judge if this would be a good fit for her. If you’d like have less reading for her you may have her read through either the Old Testament OR the New Testament in 90 days.

I would sooooo love to do this along with you. I think my older kids would enjoy the challenge too!

Count us in! I am really excited about this. Thank you!

I’m in! I need to do this again. I did it twice last year, and I want to do it again at least once this year. I seem to be more motivated when I’ve got accountability.
[Reply]
I’m in. This is just what I need.
[Reply]
Please count me in too.

Gentle nudge? Little push? No, dropped like a ton of rocks, right on my lap. Yes, I’m in. I sometimes feel this is the way God speaks to me. I wander aimlessly until I walk straight into a wall!

I am in. Never done this before, but my friend said she was doing it the other day. I thought . . “hey, that’s cool!” Then being presented with this idea again while reading your blog today, I was convicted that maybe this is what the Lord wants me to do too! I am not good at follow through so accountability and encouragement will be great for me.
[Reply]
Definitely in! I started on Jan 1 and made it further than I’ve ever made it before, but still not far enough. I’d like to try again, and would certainly appreciate the prayers, encouragement, and accountability. Thanks!

Wow! I would so love to do this! I feel so much better after reading all the comments and finding that I’m not the only one struggling in this area. I sometimes feel like such a failure. I think I’ll have my boys (12 & 10) do this with me. So, YES! Count me in!

A failure in this area, that should read!
[Reply]
I’ll try….I am a slow reader and end up not having enough time to finish each day.
[Reply]
I am praying about jumping in, I am in the Mom’s Toolbox one just about to finish.

Count me in! I tried the NT in 30 and did okay, but I let myself slip. I want to do this with my children also (18, 11, 7, 5, 3, 2) and my hubby!! This came right when I needed it ((hug)) Thank you
[Reply]
I’m in! Thought about it last time but I had some major commitments that took a lot of time. This time around I have no excuses!
[Reply]
I’m in. This is my second try – hoping to finish inside the 90 days this time (missed it last time!).
[Reply]
I would love to join in! My son (age 7, and a voracious reader!) are going to do this together! This definitely came at a time when I needed a little extra prompting and encouragement to be in the Word more. Thank you for inviting us

I’m about to complete this 90 days challenge for the first time. I have two days left. This will be the first time I’ve read the entire Bible cover-to-cover and it has been amazing.
My husband has challenged us to do it again in April-June and I was balking a bit inside, because I’m due to deliver our 5th child at home in approximately 6 weeks. So your statement about your friend hit me like a ton of bricks. Thanks for that… count me in!
[Reply]
I’m in! I’ve made excuses before. This time, nothing to offer as a reason not to. I even have a new Bible that arrived last week.
My children are 10 and younger. The eldest is just starting to read fluently. I know she’ll want to join some days, so I won’t discourage her. She is just starting to read on her own during my reading time.

I am thinking about it. I wanted to use a different version of the Bible, but I have misplaced mine. I’m praying about this, because I just am finishing up. BUt I think I will.
[Reply]
I am ready!
Thanks in advance for your encouragement and prayers! This is my first time doing this…

I am in!! When are you starting?

My daughter and I are in! Thank you!
[Reply]
Ok…I really want to do this. I don’t find that I have much “reading time” available during my day, but I want to do this.
[Reply]
I’m in that sounds like fun! Something I need to do anyway. thank you
[Reply]
I’m in! I have tried to do this several times before… I’ve read the Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy in two weeks… five times! By the time I get that far, I’m usually pretty exhausted! It’s hard to do it by myself, so thank you for opening this up. I’m so excited to have somebody to do it “with”!
[Reply]
I will! Already reading through with the family over a longer period of time, but I’d like to add this on as well. Thanks!
[Reply]
I’d love to join you all. I saw your posts about it before and thought what a good idea it was but didn’t get around to actually doing it.
[Reply]
I didn’t finish last year when you first did the challenge…but I hope to be successful this time around. My almost-6 year old recently asked me about whether I’d read the entire Bible…I had to tell her no. I can’t wait until I can tell her YES!
Kimberly, you and your family are an inspiration to me! Thanks for offering up encouragement and support.
[Reply]
I’m in! Thank you!
[Reply]
I’m in! I’m failing miserably at my bible in a year schedule; maybe this will be better!
[Reply]
Count me in!
[Reply]
I’m joining too. I’m so excited. I haven’t done it yet either so thanks for the motivation to get this started AND completed.
