The Blessing Of…

Rachel sells therapeutic grade essential oils at Young Living and recently left this beautiful comment here on Raising Olives about seeing beauty in the everyday.

The blessing of God’s GRACE, for it is what allows me to SEE beauty.
The beauty in PB&J all over little faces, sometimes even in their hair…thank you LORD for kids with healthy appetites.
The beauty of books, crayons, papers and scissors left out and strewn all over the floor…thank you LORD for their active minds.
The beauty of children fighting…thank you LORD for real life opportunities to teach them to apply your Word.
The beauty of dirty dishes…thank you LORD for simple ways to instill a strong work ethic.
The beauty of being awakened up in the middle of the night…thank you LORD for ears that hear.
The beauty of a pile of laundry…thank you LORD for hands that work without pain.
The beauty of my kids embarrassing me at the store…thank you LORD for freeing my mind from the delusion that I have to have the “perfect family.”
The beauty of not having more children… thank you LORD for the joy that comes from truly and sweetly submitting to my husband.
The beauty of still hearing, “Mommy, I’m dooo-oone!”…thank you LORD for their sweet innocence.
The beauty of dirty little munchkins…thank you LORD that they love to be outside and barefoot.
The beauty of being a MOM…thank you LORD for continuing the work you started in me.

Thank you Rachel for a word fitly spoken. (Proverbs 25:11)

This was a nice thought-provoking piece. I have really enjoyed your blog so far!
… But.. Uh…. There is no Proverbs 35…

    Kimberly @ Raising Olives Reply:

Thanks. Sorry about the typo, that should have been Proverbs 25:11. Fixed now. 🙂

This is so great and specific! When my baby stirs for the 4th time on the monitor and I grumble, my husband says ‘be thankful she’s here, she’s alive and healthy, and that your ears work to hear her!’
