It’s Your Life: Moss Family {Giveaway}

The family today is in a state of crisis like never before and sadly we don’t have to look beyond our own four walls to see the results. Most of us have two incomes but we’re deeply in debt. … We consider it normal for our children to be best friends with their peers and yet bicker and fight with each other and disrespect their parents. Our churches are full of programs, but 88 percent of children raised in evangelical homes leave the church at the age of 18 never to return. – Shane Moore

From the Moore family, the producers of “Children Are a Blessing“, comes a new series of films that offers something different, Β families who have chosen to reject the societal norms for family and instead build on the firm foundation of the Word of God. The Moss Family is the first in this series.

From children who are best friends with their siblings, to training daughters to be joyful keepers at home, “The Moss Family” encourages Christians and challenges them to examine the false presuppositions of today’s society.

Their enjoyment of family and the simple pleasures of life stands in stark contrast to the majority of families today who sacrifice time together in their pursuit of activities and possessions.

Family worship, multiple c-sections, hard work and facing family tragedy with faith and confidence in the God who gives and takes away combine to give viewers a peek into the typical day-to-day life of this family who is not ‘typical’ in a nation of people who have turned their backs on God and His Word.

Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life. (Deuteronomy 32:46.47)

It Is Your Life: The Moss Family” is available for $13.95 at Moore Family Films.

I am the mother of 11 children, who have come to us in many ways: through birth, marriage, foster care and adoption. I love my family deeply, even though there are times that they challenge me on that, and desire to bring them all up to know Christ. I am a stay-at-home Mom/Grandma and love my role in the lives of my children and husband. I couldn’t be more blessed.

This video sounds so refreshing! Our family’s story: After nearly divorcing in 1997, the Lord sent a godly pastor to counsel us. We were both saved and then against the advice of well-meaning family and friends, we decided to stay together. We were expecting our 5th child at the time, who would’ve been our last, but God quickly changed our hearts regarding children. Fourteen years later, our family has become a beacon of hope for those who struggle in a failing marriage. We have 10 children; the oldest is married with 2 children. The other children have a singing ministry, (singing in churches, festivals and community events) in which they share our family story with others.

We are a work in progress, but aren’t we all. I am nearing my 28th birthday and am the mother to 4 blessings thus far. My husband and I were high school sweethearts but didn’t make God the center of our marriage until we found out we were expecting our first child. He served in the Navy for 5 years during that time which pulled us across country from our family and forced us to lean on God in founding our own family.

This looks so great! A little about my family, I have been married to my amazing husband for almost 5 years, and we have 4 precious little girls so far:) Our oldest is almost 4, then twin 1.5 yr olds, then an almost 4 month old. I love reading about ideas for what to do with littles, since that is my life right now. It is a daily battle to be selfless and I can’t do anything without the Lord’s help. It is hard work as many moms know raising so many little ones, but they are such a joy!

The Lord has renewed our vision and shown us much mercy over the last three years and we are grateful! As for my family: we’ve hit as bottom and then some and are trying to recover – I’m speaking of our marriage here – and learning about Jesus and how to let him be our Lord. We hope very much that the generational curses that have brought so much pain into our lives will be broken with us and will not cause our beautiful children to suffer the same way.

We would love to see this movie. My husband and I are high school sweethearts. Married 15 years. We have 7 children 13-7mos. We strive to teach them the ways of the Lord not of the world. We pray that they will choose a
Godly way to adulthood and live for Jesus. Our first 2 children were on “our time” and also happen to be c-sections. We met a friend who introduced us to homeschooling and a different perspective on children. We have since surrendered our childbearing years to the Lords plan. Our last 5 have been VBACs. God is good and we are teaching ours that babies are a blessing. They would/have receive different counsel from family, friends and even the church which make it even more important to show them that His word should have the final authority.

It would be a blessing and an honor to win a copy of this DVD. I wasn’t trained as a young child to be best friends with my family first and I deeply want that for my own children, but I don’t always have the resources to know how to achieve this. It seems like I try, and when we are just at home, things are well. Once we venture out into the world to attend various functions and the other kids we come in contact with don’t have that same “heart” towards their family, they are a strong pull for my older kids to feel as if they are missing out by not going to all the functions these peers are attending with all the friends and are away from the family. I want my children to have their hearts for their family. It is a crazy mixed up mess at times and I would love to watch a family that has achieved this.

I have 4 children, 2 adopted. Although I have always been a Christian, I have been striving to learn how to be more intentional in my parenting/mentoring. I am also alarmed at how many children leave the church when they become adults. The statistics have made us even more diligent in how we raise our children. So any resource we come across that teaches us (shows us) how to parent in a more Godly way, is a blessing!

Thank you for a wonderful giveaway. We are a family of 9, 2 daughters have left our home and 5, we are still educating at home. We have 2 grandchildren from our oldest daughter. We have embarked on a lonely road full of persecution(our families think we are nuts) to embrace training our daughters to enjoy and love their role as help meets and mothers. We struggle with the world’s pull back into the mainstream of society and would love to see other godly families embracing and walking this lifestyle out day by day.

Our desire is to raise our two boys with a desire to know Christ. I was raised Christian, but also very worldly. My parents divorced after 30 years of marriage. I want something very different for my children. We are homeschooling with the hopes of deeply rooting them in the faith and stipping away the distractions of this world. My husband directs a local Christian community outreach center, so we are still very involved with normal, everyday Americans in need. We hope to keep our kids grounded yet still able to relate and minister to others.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win this. It sounds like a wonderful resource. We are a family of four (so far); daughter 3 and son 6 months. My husband and I have two babies in heaven and it is literally all by God’s grace that we are still married. When we first married, my husband was a false convert with many hidden sins I didn’t know about. God graciously and mercifully saved him and brought me to repentance and an understanding of biblical submission and the roles of men and women according to His Word before the birth of our daughter. We feel as though we are learning so much and desire to be pleasing and honoring to God with everything we do with our children and in our family. I would love to read this book. I came to realize that I wanted a big family a little later in the game. Having turned 40 this last year, I am regretting that I didn’t make the most of my fertile years and had more than our 5 children (I know, nothing to shake a stick at, but I could have MORE). We range from 14 years to 4 months currently. I would love to read more about a family that has similar values since my own family, inlaws and blood, don’t understand or really support us. I am looking for good examples of more traditional family life that we don’t find in the world or even in our own extended families. This looks like a great read.

Seeing a movie like this would be a wonderful support to what we are trying to do!
I’ve been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom since 1 month before our first was born. We have 7 kids, 6 boys and 1 girl, ages 14 to 2. We would love to have more but are waiting on God for that :). Our youngest was born with brain cancer which caused hydrocephaly. He currently has a shunt and is being monitored every 6 months for his cancer. We also just moved (about 3 weeks ago) to a new state-8 hours south of our previous home.
I would love to win this! Thanks for the chance.

My husband and I have 4 children, ages 7 – 6 months. We’ve been homeschooling from the beginning and I would love to have this dvd for support and guidance. Our family isn’t used to more than 2 kids or the thought of homeschooling which can be difficult at times. I am learning how to be a good homemaker and any tips would be helpful. Thank you for this opportunity!

I am the mother to 8 great children! Our oldest is a boy 19, next is a girl 16, then two boys 12 and 14, and then four little girls 10, 9, 7, and 5. We are slowly and prayerfully learning about how God wants us to raise our children and we would love as many mentors as possible. We appreciate this opportunity! :o)

My husband and I have been married for 10 yrs, and we have 3 wonderful children- (2 of which have the same names as 2 of yours- a Colby and a Sadie) We homeschool and I love it! My husband recently underwent a vasectomy reversal as we have been convicted to put the size of our family back into the Lords hands. It has been a tough/faith filled journey and hope it ends with at least one more little miracle!

Hi! My name is Teri. I have been married for 10 years. I have 4 children from my womb and one stepson: stepson 18, daughter 12, daughter 7, son 4, and son 3. About 3 years after having my youngest daughter, my husband and I decided to stop using the pill. I began to get a revelation that I was not trusting God with my womb by ME deciding when and how many children we should have. Since making that decision back then, I had 2 miscarriages and two beautiful sons! We are a homeschooling family as well. Although somedays the idea of more children can be a bit scary, I believe that God IS IN CONTROL! I am ever so blessed to have my husband and our children. I am also BLESSED by your blog! Thanks for sharing with us!!!

I am a sahm and we have three children with one coming within the next month. A daughter 20, son 18, son 6, and a son coming soon. We have homeschooled for about 8 years, and will homeschool our younger boys. We have just recently, this summer, felt lead of the Lord to do family worship. Our church family is kind of wondering about us, but I want to do what the Lord wants. Our older children pretty much stopped going to church when they turned 18, so we have seen both sides of the issue. This would be great to watch! We love the Duggars and their witness for our Lord too. Thanks for your blog I really enjoy it take great encouragement from it. πŸ™‚

God has richly blessed us with 10 children, 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. At the age of 66/67 we are blessed to have a 3 year old daughter(yes, I said daughter), a 4 year old granddaughter and a 2 year old grandson living with us. I am blessed to care for all the little ones almost every day.
Our older children are obviously now grown and are doing “okay” in life but, with three exceptions, are not serving the Lord. We don’t want this to happen to these little ones. I need help, encouragement, and of course, prayer to lead these precious souls to a Christ-like life. This film would definitely be a great help. Thanks

Our family is at a pause. I don’t like pauses, but here we are. 7 children, one moved to Heaven at 3 years, 7 miscarriages, and the last pregnancy very difficult on my health. Pausing to focus on weight loss, healthy mommy, and prayer. Difficult. Children are a blessing and a gift… “more please, Lord?” Honoring my wonderful husband, and serving in my present place. I know we’d be greatly blessed by the video. Thanks Kimberly!

We are a family of 7. Our boys are 14, 11, 8, and 6 months. Our daughter is 2. We are pretty conservative in our views. But, I guess we look a little different. My husbans has a tatoo and I have dreads. We tends towards that crunchy, hippy stuff. We homeschool and believe in woman being at home. It has been an interesting journey and we pray it passes to our children and their families. I am so happy my husband saw a good wife in me, I sure didn’t.

Wow.. this sounds like a great dvd. Our family is heading in the same direction as the one in the dvd, although I doubt we are *exactly* alike. πŸ™‚ We have 5 boys, homeschool, and have left the mega-church setting. We try to do most everything as a family, and attend a family style type of church.

We would love to have the dvd. We are a family of eight. Our six children range from 4-16. We are very home centered and love to spend time with each other. We’ve had a disruption in our “home centeredness” since our 6yo Hannah was diagnosed with cancer in May of this year. I’m getting ready to leave tomorrow with the three younger children for Houston where Hannah will be getting radiation treatment.

    Blessings,

My husband and I have been married coming up on five years. We have three lovely daughters so far, 3.5, 1.5, and 2 months, and five babies in heaven. It’s been a crazy ride being pregnant 8 times since our wedding day. My husband works from home during the days building an internet business, and also has a night job to keep food on the table while his business is still growing. I stay home and raise our children. We are trying to keep ourselves from being influenced by worldly views of family, especially in how we spend our time and how we expect our children to interact with each other. Thanks for this giveaway!

I am 34 years old and have been married to my husband for 12 years. In that time we have been blessed with 7 children and one more due any day (6 boys,1 girl). Having 8 children was not what my husband and I had planned when we got married. Nor was homeschooling, living on a farm or having a family business. I laugh now because I guess we are pretty standard in the circles we run in but to the rest of the world we are so different. It has been these differences that have drawn people to us in a good way as well as caused us much criticism and hardship. It is only through our faith in God that we continue on but we struggle daily to persevere.

We welcome His plans for us & pray that He would bless us with a quiver full of arrows to sharpen for His glory!! I am so thankful to have found this site a few months ago. But just in case…
I’m a 31 Mamma of 4 and married to my high school sweet heart of 10 yrs. I’ve homeschooled right from the start and every year is new, exciting and sometimes overwhelming. But it’s worth every hardship! I’m falling in love with my children more and more and they with me…
You’re blog has enspired me to ensure I have my childrens hearts and disciple them to love the Lord! Forget academics! (although we do that too…) More and more I want to just dive into Gods word, worship and pray….and so do they! I think these videos would enrich our family and enspire to keep at it (we’re one of the few families in our community that live like this…sniff) If you’re willing to send a copy to Canada I’d be sooo thankful!

My wonderful husband Patrick Nicolle and I have been married 12years,me being just out of high school and a new beliver. When we where married my husband was not a beliver but took every second to debate with me on what i belived and why which helped me grow and at the same time three months after we where married he came to know jesus as savior. We now have four kids Julia 11,Danielle 7,Andre 5, and Sarah 13 months, and one due dec.6. We decie for the best for our family was for me to stay home with the kids and homeschool, get out of debt. completly. We have been homeschooling now for four years , we have no debt except our houses (we have two). But the Lord has sent us in a way that is a little scary for me (but my confidence is in HIM) to sell both houses and be complety out of debt. So I have been looking for ways to help save money and teach our kids at home and a friend recomended your web page. So lad it has been a blessing to me and my husband and kids alike. Thanks so much.

We are a military family with 6 children…about 11 years ago, we decided that God did not give us children for someone else to raise…so I left my paid job for the great adventure of being an at-home mom…While money is really nice, the time I have been able to spend with my children has been worth more than I could ever imagine.

We are a blended family with six children, ranging from college age to two. I was working outside the home when my older children started school, but am interested in home schooling our youngest. There’s a little resistance from extended family though. I just want to make the right decisions in raising my children, not just focus on whatever is easiest right now. Eternal goals are much more important.
