Dominion in Diapers

Matthew (3), Amber (5), Kaitlin (4), Alyssa (1) Carter (6 mos.) (not pictured)

Four small children romp around me as I will my pregnant self to do the next thing.

At 5:30, Mark asks about our day and I don’t know how to answer.

I was busy, so busy that there was hardly a chance to think, but we didn’t accomplish a single thing that won’t have to be done again tomorrow.

Love this quote. I can SO relate! Some days I feel as if I accomplish nothing more than existing or surviving. But, that is a major part of being a SAHM Mom. Thank you for putting into words what I was feeling!

Sounds like my household, too. I was on bedrest twice with little children camping out with me in the bedroom. When I think back to those days, I don’t know how I did it. It has to be God and the angels He sends to help us.

Our accomplishments are happy and healthy children :-) though the floor may still be sticky and laundry unfolded.

When I first transitioned from working full time to being home full time, I only had one baby and I still had days like this. I felt like I had accomplished nothing, because everything that I did would need to be done again the next day. My wonderful husband would look around our house and say “really” with surprise as he named all the things he could “see” that I had done that day. It was a real eye opener on that really gets done and lost in the moment.

what a lovely post! I have 4 little ones and number 5 arriving next month and my days can be crazy but I love when my 6 year old will run in and look after one of the little ones so lovingly and with sweet words and be the little mummy. That’s when I see the good that is being done here…..sometimes we just need a reminder!
