Go to the Worship of God Conference for FREE {or Win the Audio Recordings}

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Dana and her family!

For years our family has desired to attend a NCFIC (National Center for Family Integrated Churches) Conference. We have many friends who have attended and they come home talking about the excellent speakers, the encouragement and knowledge they gained and the wonderful, amazing times of fellowship. They say they hate going to bed each night because they don’t want to miss a second of time with like-minded believers from around the country.

However, a conference has never worked into our family’s budget. But this year our family is GOING (can you hear my kids shouting? They are SO excited!) and, thanks to the NCFIC, we’re going to give your family the opportunity to join us.

One family, from the Raising Olives readership, will recieve FREE registration and lodging for the Worship of God Conference  in Asheville, NC October 31- November 2! If you’re unable to attend the conference {which would be sad because we’d love to meet you}, then you may chose to receive the full audio from the conference instead (retail value @ $250).

Excited and ready to go? Scroll down to the bottom of this post to find out how to enter.

Worship of God Conference

The Worship of God Conference will seek to examine and experience the worship of God and to say with king David, “Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells” (Psalm 26:8). The starting point will be to establish that God must be worshipped in the way He has designed, not the way man desires.

Speakers include:

  • Kevin Swanson – A second generation homeschooler (they’re not many in my generation), if you’ve never met or heard Kevin Swanson you’re in for a treat. His series on ‘Reforming the Family‘ significantly impacted our family (We especially appreciated “Raising a Mighty Man of God” and that sermon influenced the name we chose for one of our sons).
  • Dr. Joel Beeke
  • Dr. Joe Morecraft III – an amazing speaker and close family friend. My parents were staying with the Morecraft’s when my mother received devastating news about her cancer which God used to move my parents to homeschool my siblings and me.
  • Scott Brown
  • ….and more.
Kaitlin with our youngest son on our most recent camping trip.

Kaitlin (15) and our baby (1) on our most recent camping trip.

Topics include:

  • Worldviews communicated by music
  • Prayer as worship
  • Worship and the judgement of God
  • What about worship on the Lord’s day – is there a Christian Sabbath?
  • What about joy in worship?
  • Why does God destroy nations for their worship?
  • Why we should sing the Psalms?
  • Men and women in worship
  • so many more. I can hardly wait!!!!

NCFIC (National Center for Family-Integrated Churches)

Our family has been part of family-integrated churches since we became a family. It has been an amazing blessing to worship God side-by-side with our children each and every Sunday.

No nursery, no children’s church, just our family, including all our children, gathered to participate in the corporate worship of God. It’s a beautiful pattern that we see set before us in the Scriptures.

In a world that seems intent on tearing families apart, it’s refreshing to be part of a church which self-consiously seeks to strengthen families and encourage parents in their roles of bringing their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. And the families that you find in these churches?

Amazing!

Just a portion of the families who gathered for our annual family campout.

15 Families, 124 people (92 of them children), 3 days, 2 nights, hikes, hours of ultimate frisbee, songs around the campfire,  uncounted marshmallows and lots of time to build life-long relationships, our annual family camp out.

The Mission of the National Center for Family Integrated Churches:

1. Proclaim the sufficiency of scripture for church and family life
2. Promote the centrality of the church in God’s plan for families
3. Recover the biblical doctrines of manhood and womanhood in church and family life
4. Explain the complementary roles of church and family
5. Facilitate church planting and relationship building
6. Communicate the biblical doctrines of the church and family
7. Restore the biblical pattern of age integrated worship, discipleship and evangelism
Before we moved to Knoxville, we searched the NCFIC network for churches that would encourage and strengthen our vision for our family. The church listings can be searched by different doctrines and beliefs, so whether you’re Baptist, Presbyterian or something else you can search for churches that hold to the same specific doctrines that you find important.

I think Craig Houston sounds the most interesting & the topics I’m interested in are: how to grow in my personal worship, feminine influences in worship (wonder what that’s about!), why we don’t dance in worship?(seriously curious here), & music in corporate worship- sparked my interest. Our Church is moving in the direction of family-integrated & my husband is the pastor & I hadn’t heard of NCFIC- so thanks.

I’m guessing your Valor’s name was inspired by Kevin Swanson’s sermon.
